Found it strange today, sold my char I have had for many years. obviously i have built up both friends and foes along the years, who have known my main. Now i sold it, and speaking to the same people with an alt, they act like i am someone else, as they cant think of me as anything else but the old char. I must admit I feel a bit weird not hearing or calling myself my old char too...I guess after 7 years of the same char its gonna be a bit strange. Anyone else encountered this... |

Yes, quite normal. Running a multi-MMO forum with a friend. It's invite only and all the people there know my real name, but all of them address me by the name of whatever toon I played when we first met.
Your character is a mask you wear in this part of the Internet and just like people will find it hard to recognize you after facial plastic surgery, they will find it hard when you change your avatar/character.
Good lesson for people saying they dislike roleplay or would never do it. All actions in EVE are essentially RP. Like it or not. ;) |

This. If I make a long post, I always Control C it before trying to post. Saves a whole lot of forum agro.
As for the OP, yeah, I hear how that goes. I was in a corp one time that no matter what toon I was on, i was Jimmy. I got atteched to that name eventually too. Funny how we humans can be sometimes, heh.
Make CQ and WiS an option, not a must.-á I don't play EvE for the toon spinning. |

I know the feeling, i've been gaming with the same comunity of friends for years, through multiple games, they still call me Beli which was my original characters name in the first game we played together even though every game since and including the last year or so of that game my main character has been Tedril, plus they all know my real name yet never use it. |
