Christmas is over with and it is April now. Yet, when I passed on by this one house, the christmas lights were still on the roof. Which pondered my mind, when do you take yours down?
Mine - January 31st.

Either a few days before or after New Years.

12 days or you're cursed. So seen as you're already cursed I would stay off the roof.

Wouldn't that qualify them as "lights" then, and not "christmas lights"?

well lessee, outdoor christmassy lights round the gutter, on the large and quite sick looking tree in the front yard.
oh and one of those silly lightup snowmen rather precariously attached to the chimney.
...did I mention that its a daynursery?

We usually just leave them up, or bunch them together with the tree that we throw a veil over and leave in the den. It has been up for 3(4?) years now though, and so it probably will be taken down soon.

also try to remember that some people are unable to take them down due to some handicap or maybe they are old and have a bad back or something and is easier just to leave them up year round and plug them in when needed

Over the summer I work for the Public Works department of my home town trimming trees from May to August. Every now and then I see homes with the lights still up, with able bodied people living there, even found some strands in the trees.
A couple weeks ago when I went home for Spring Break, I saw a house that was getting new siding while the lights were still up. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

if it were upto me, I'd have the bloody light on the entire year and then some. so ******* annoying to have to put them up again, only to take them down, only to put them BACK UP AFTER 10 MONTHS, hardly seems worth it to me. you do know you can just unplug them and be done with it!, no need to actually REMOVE them :P ______________ Only in the Tales that humans tell, do the hunters kill the wolf in the end.

Wouldn't it be easier not to put them up in the first place? -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Won't someone please think of the children!
I find christmas more appealing on a few months distance, finding myself getting in the mood for songs and the usual season food just now, could it be warplag?
