what do you people think of the size difference between ships.
don't you think its a bit over the top? its always exiting to have a bigger ship, and whats ore exiting is the release of new ships, soon i hope. but the size difference is starting to look as a problem and disconcerned about realism. i mean its easy to tell that you can fit a frig in a battleship, but yet you can't if a cruiser was ony 200% bigger than a frig and a battle ship only 40% bigger than a cruiser. the size, volume, and cargo space issues would ve been more acceptable.
btw with titans arround could CCP improve the resolution options.

Edited by: Dark Silver on 09/04/2005 19:46:04 You have to remember though that the extra space you gain from increasing the ship size goes to larger engines, power generators, computers and so on so the cargo space for stuff which isn't normally required for ship operation stays mainly the same...

bigger ship = more armour, bigger engines more comps, slave storage and power stuff to get all the guns and mods to actually run

A frig is a pod hotwired into everything, no living quarters no nothing, and some cargo space.
A cruiser houses 300 peeps, living quarters and all that stuff, then you got the everything is bigger problem, and in space making something bigger means you have to reinforce everything 10 times over. Which means even bigger engines which means. You get the drift. And the combat ships aren't made for transporting. And big empty spaces need to be reinforced like mad.

after playing X2. the threat lately. i feel disapointed in eve in some aspects.
but i still thing its a much better game.
too bad when i loose a ship i can t get a free ride home by one of my m8's. not that i ever needed to.
but thats the main point imagine getting poded 50 jumps from the nearest station.
im not sure if such a thing exists but once ur there it could jsut be some one elses station, and you re not allowed to dock unless you get to secure space.
sux ain t it.
the time u spend facing the computer, is a very precious time, very very precious.
and u can t go afk( i guese most of you will just go akf and if poded nothing lost, unless you have implants.

i understand that you dont mind doing so,
but why pod jump while we they can just change the game a little.
we can t just sit here play i as it is all the time and not request improvment.
pod jump,
what if no one is around to pod you let say its just after downtime rarely any one online u lost ur apoc to rats.
anyways i hope you stop justefying such a dull thing as not being able to get a ride home from some one.
by pod ju,ping wish is not normal. if your lost in the desert kill your self and u ll be in hell.

Edited by: Demangel on 14/04/2005 18:10:13 Even if the ships can't fit into cruisers Bs etc, what about an industrial? An unassembled ship "should" easily be made to fit into an indy, hell one indy even without expanders can hold like what? 10-100 frigs worth of minerals.... ?

this kind of answers that i hate. fadamn it stop justefying it
.................................
anyways im not asking for ships to be carried in others we heard that flag shps wich are the carriers, due to be released alongside titans and dreads.
now when ever that happens they can 't say: too much programming to able you getting a ride home if u loose ur ship, or the engine doesnt support it.
besides pod jumping does take you to empire but not to anywere you want. only to ur medical station.
regarding the stations pfeew, what can i say. Quote: if you don't like eve complain to adam not steve

Very much so. Some of the hangar graphics are quite massive, and when you undock it just doesn't seem very convincing.

Larger computers? they must be smaller cuz it takes them forever to lock a target.

back in a days, while playing F-16 from ea games. those things use to get lock from 13km and away that amraam missile goes.
and to this moment technology didnt caught up that much with eve. i bet todays planes can get lock from even further.
anyways thas not the point i can complain about everything

haulers use (i heard) that whole planckian thing, like cans do. Minerals can be stored in such a way, but ships dont appreciate it. and hey, theres not much size difference between cruiser and BS... try comparing a moa with a scorpion some time :P
locking range wise and stuff... maybe the physics of the eve universe are different. hell, maybe the distances are different - for all you know, 1m in eve = 14miles to us... (granted, unlikely. but the possibility is there.). more reasonable is that the physics are different in that universe, maybe theres a lot of dust around that interferes with sensors. maybe the same system that allows you to instantaneously detect ships 15AUs away also disrupts medium range sensors so much that only the very close range (ie the ones we use to lock) will work properly.
