So here in the Forums many threads are threads how highsec could be become more risky, or have a lower income. Most of this threads are from people living in low or 0 sec.
So i yesterday i was flying around a little bit in 0 sec just to look around if its really so bad many people say.
Truth is , i found many many gate camps most of them without anyone near them so it was 0 risk for me , and sure i understand why pirates wait at this camps to kill a freighter or any other ship.
But and thats the thing i dont understand.
Why people who life in Low and 0 Sec complain that nobody move into this area of the game? you dont let them pass the gate so how should they come to 0 sec or low sec and try to stay there?
piracy in 0 sec is nice sure its a risk for the pirate (often not a high risk) and a risk for others to fly around there and really i love such risky things, but why you must camp at the gates so people who warp in are nearly destroyd withhin seconds?
Why do this so called pro gamers and pro gankers want free delivery? Why you dont WORK for you ISK, and no i dont think sitting hour and hour on a gate camp is working for your isk.
Thats the thing i dont understand, you complain that not many people flying around in 0 sec and thats true , but how should people come to 0 sec if you kill them directly at the gate with a gate camp?
Why should as example a freighter pilot take the shorter route through 0 sec if he or she know that she wont survice it cause she will be dead within seconds cause someone is camping at a gate? Gate Camping would be ok if its only ship vs ship then i think it would be fine, but if you jump into a system and are placed inside a mobile warp disruptor field and some other player is sitting there waiting for easy lunch its not really ok .
So yes i also thing highsec need to become a little bit more dangerous and i dont think 0 sec must become safer, but i think people who life in 0 sec must also understand that THEY are the reason not many try to fly around in 0 sec. Cause not the Freighter Pilots or the new Players or the so called carebears are blocking many gates with stupid gatecamps, you are doing this.
Ok i lost my ship yesterday and my clone, thats ok such things can happen sure. But loosing it only cause someone is sitting there like a spider and only waiting for easy targets sounds not really interesting or dangerous .
So tell me you 0 Sec pirates, what do you want? Do you want more people in 0 sec also then more targets to shoot but also more targets that can shoot back, or do you simply want more sitting ducks inside your gate camps so you can kill them wihtout risk and maximum reward? If its the last, then i dont understand why you always complain that highsec people do the same, low risk much reward on both sides. |

No such thing as 0 (null) sec pirates. Everyone is fair game in null . I belive they only become pirates if they pvp in low / high.
As for gate camps, if you are going through null, then its probably worth going as a fleet and busting said camps. Its not that hard to do, and a lot of Eve players DO find this fun.

I think there is a difference between 5 people with mining barges and 5 people in fully pvp fittet ships. I would call the first group miners and the second pirates. |

I dont consider myself a pirate, but i would gate camp in 0.0 if i feel like it. Null is free pvp. Gatecamping in low however would make me a pirate, as any aggressive action i take gives me a sec hit. Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. So you "visited" nullsec out of curiosity.
That is the problem. Nobody needs to go to nullsec, because you have everything you need in highsec. Gate camps are just a form of pastime pvp that occures here and there, but it gets you hostiles.

So everyone who pvp's in null is a pirate? And if i take a fleet to attack a pirate gate camp in low then that still makes me a pirate?
If this is the case, then in your book there are only 2 types of player..carebear and pirate Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?....****.. |

If you fit your ship for pvp with the objective to attack/rob other ships you are a pirate. What you're talking about is one pirate attacking another pirate (-:
And no, you're not a pirate if you /only/ attack pirates. A pirate is an outlaw! |

To the OP
Your adorable.
Why do you think that this forum is so full of constant trolling and butthurt from all sides.
There are people who sit on a gate for 6 hours and then moan that no one ever comes through that gate.
There are Nullsecers in large Alliances who never use those gates who moan that highsec people wont come to nullsec
Its a constant revolving door or pointlessness and arguing.
There are highsecers who would never bother leaving highsec for a second
And then there are the Devs who try to add new game content and only think of the good it will do and not realise that people are only looking for the exploits the entire time (FW LP anyone)
Lastly this game is not fun unless its organised fun
In highsec your corp can be a social group
In lowsec your corp is an organised group needed to survive if you live/prey on others
In Nullsec you must learn to love the F1 button and being shouted at by a Autistic FC who is only in charge because he has no job, all the time in the world and no friends apart from EVE.
Welcome to the ultimate social simulator I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion. |

so what I think is
I scanned down a grav site in a lowsec system and figured I might as well try mining it
and I was an idiot and assumed that the rare ores in the site would be worth something
I moved my mining alt (why did I train this!?) into lowsec with no trouble (gates were all empty as usual)
and went mining, watching local and scan
and I got back to the station, added up what one load of minerals got me
and found I really should have been mining scordite in highsec
bloody scordite
so those are the reasons my mining dude won't be running gatecamps
because there weren't any, I scouted myself (I have half a brain) and there's no point risking lowsec to mine anyway
the end. by benny. |

The idea of gate camping is to control who goes in and out of your space. Seeing as that is the most effective spot to bottleneck people and catch them, I don't see what else you could really do besides what has already been suggested in the past ie more dynamic encounter areas ect.
Even pirates "control" areas of lo-sec via gate camping and patrols, its the way of EvE. |

So just to clarify this, i dont moved around in low and 0 just for the fun of moving around, i was moving around in low and 0 to find a place where my corp and me can try to life in 0 sec , that was the reason, oh and no we dont stop cause my ship was destroyed, and no i dont have any problems with pirates in low ,0 or highsec.
I only say if pirates block gates so no one can enter low or 0 then uhm nobody would really come to 0 sec .
Also someone asked how capture ships if not at the gates, good question, so what about targetting and scrambling or webbing them without mobile warp disruptors or something like that? What about scanning down people who could enter the system if theres no gate camp? |

You cant get to nullsec apparently because all the gates are camped by Pirates

Because of Jita there is no need to do so.

Well 0.0 players sure like to complain fopr lack of targets... but then again everyone complain for something.... Even lowsec players and highsec players...
But then again those 0.0 powerblocks think they own 0.0 space, so they place guards on gates where they feel guards are needed. And what would power block be if it would let just anyone fly throw their space? Ex-powerblock soon enough.
And knowing how super slow freighters are, i would newer ever fly on throw losec/0.0 without proper fleet suport. Theres just too many people that will happily take freighter killmail... :P I would too btw. Freighter is just slow, huge target in there...
Personally i would like see more people in 0.0, but i believe that current what 0.0 is, dosent provide reasons to get more people in there. Too easy for industrialist to loose access to that outpost where your small carriers are building, etc... No room for peasants in 0.0.
Sometimes when i fly throw 0.0 systems on my way somewhere, i keep thinking, all these systems are owned by some alliance, but theres none there to use these systems... Local is often clear, except me... [Insert something funny or smart here] |

I thought the original intention of Eve was to give people a scifi sandbox MMO where they could build their own empires in 0.0.
Huh...
