27 teams, 10 PLEX each, Less than $5000. I doubt that covers the production cost. CCP, is this disappointing? How does it bode for future tournaments of this type?

Since there are "open slots" from teams that didn't fill (32-27 == 5), why not use the 5 open slots for something extra?

Perhaps invite the teams to have multi-team Free-for-alls during the open time slots... With eight starting locations, you could host a small mini-event...

Four 7 team FFA's, where the winners face off in a 4 team FFA.

Another Question.
If we ask really really nice, give an PLEX to charity (Poor orphans of RvB?) and promise to give a beer to the man in power at fanfest .. would it be possible to change the name of our team?

There was a minor misscommunication between Team <-> Team Captain <-> CCPs petiton.
I don't know the details, but now we are stuck with a name we don't like that much.

Why do some teams get a first round bye this seems really unfair on the other teams

if there are 5 spare teams that means you have 2 pairs and 1 bye not 5 thats ******* ********

But, aren't sisi tied with the DUST beta players?, it surely says so when i use that shortcut instead of the ones for Duality or
Buckingham i normally use when i'm not missclicking.

All teams had equal chance of getting a bye. That's fair.

I did not pair up the empty slots as that would allow the winner of the neighboring round 1 match to advance uncontested to round 3. I would much rather have 5 teams skip round 1 than 2 teams skip round 2 and 1 team skip round 1. There's similar effects on the loser's bracket as well, with teams skipping the 2nd round if you pair up the blanks.

To think of it another way, the method we chose returns to normal form after the first round of the winner's and loser's bracket. Pairing blank spots does not return to normal form until round 3.

So the point of using SiSi for EvE testing is not very useful.

Getting Buck and/or Duality running with new goodies feels more important.

Because CCP Habakuk and myself are super nice guys, every member of a tournament team has just received 3M unallocated SP on Sisi. You should now be able to match up your character to it's current training point. We can't mirror the server at the moment due to ongoing testing, but hopefully this will serve just as well.
