look at what we get. This is just some of the negatives (theirs plenty)
- It can be expensive (Multiple accounts, if your lazy just buying GTC and selling for isk) - Most time consuming MMO I ever played, sometimes feels like a 2nd job at times - Most content is mind blowing boring (If you mission / rat just shooting red +'s ZZZZZZ) - It takes near forever to get anywhere or to see action. Some roams last a few hours with close to no action, some not though.
Ive been playing since 03, ive taken small breaks in the past (like month long breaks during long skill training), about 3 months ago i was POSITIVELY sure i was finally done with the game...unsubbed for the first time ever.. All my friends (our "Group") that ive played with for the past 6 years now, no one else plays.. but i had to come back, i tried every other MMO out there to fill the void but nothing compares to EvE.
I'm thinking for me its goals and being able to contribute to them with your friends. Ive always been a PvPer and even to this day when i get in small fights (non blob fests) and its close it still gets my heart pounding, no MMO has ever done that to date. The rush.
What is it about EvE that keeps you hooked??? |

Actually, see if the audio folks would be interested in adding that "balloon deflating whistle" noise for pod destruction. Maybe for the April (2013) patch.

Complexity & the time investment are the major players in why i'm so hooked on this game, Secondary is the fear & uncertainty that the game environment provides which constantly pushes me into a fight or flight state of mind.
There is nothing out there for me that even comes close to Eve's depth.
Never in all my varied gaming career has a game made me touch cloth like EVE has & never has any game felt so alive, Took me a while to get hooked but i'm beyond saving now, Eve has her cold & sweaty hands cupping my plums & i'm powerless to resist.

For myself, Eve feels like a second life. Job included. The difference is that I am allowed to make mistakes and recover from them at whatever pace I deem is needed instead of what society deems. I make the job what I want it to be, work with a community, gain from others after they've made gains from me.
I get pulled in by the realistic nature of the game. You don't want to lose at all, but if you do, you have to rebuild or go home (in this case, going home would be quitting/restarting somewhere else). We are recruiting like-minded individuals. PvP in low sec with eyes set to null. Visit our public channel for inquiries, or message me. Looking forward to it. Public Channel: Psycho Tech Pub |

When you pull something off in Eve it is a tale to tell. My co-workers play other MMOs the tales just don't have the backing behind them with their experiences:
Them: "Yeah, we slayed Bob the Builder, and we only wiped four times, our armor repair costs were 100 gold each".
Me: "Ran a day trip for ratting in to a C3 with a couple buddies but we collapsed the hole behind us and found out that another group had come in via a different hole. The hauler got popped before we could stand the tower and we ran for it. They had a bubble on the exit hole we found but I was able to clear it only to end up in the wrong side of null and I had to run a couple camps to get semi safe with only my pod. We are out about 700 mill for the night"
Them "You get your ship back right?"
Me "No, I need to buy all new gear."
Them "What fun it that?"
Some people don't get it. November 6th, 2012 "With this in mind, it becomes quite obvious to focus on training the Destroyers and Battlecruisers skills before the change to get the maximum return effect. We highly recommend you start doing so now." --á CCP Ytterbium from:-áhttp://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=73530 |

I would love to articulate why? If I could, perhaps I could explain it to my friends/family. 99% of them don't get the 3 monitor/3 accounts at a time. Although, I'm getting some good nerd-cred this way...
But, I guess I'll give it a try.
A game that:
- frustrates a noob into making the learning curve a sort of PVE (I almost rage quit 3 times first week)
- has a meta-game so involved you never are 'not' playing
- brings back fond memories of playing Elite as a kid (C-64 FTW)
.... plus just about everything said ^. EvE, it's all about tear managment. |

It's not the PVE crack fest that world of war craft provides druggies. It's the allowable grief play and brutal losses that make eve great. Each day some noob on the dev team forgets this and slowly cuts another part of eve off which is slowly killing the game. The massive buff to mining ship HP was very dumb, the ******** war dec system that allows F&^S to hide in high sec unmolested alongside NPC corps is also full tard mode. I havent popped a corpse in awhile, does the whole screen still shake for everybody? That was fun. I remember the first time it happened we were all like WTF WAS THAT?!?!?!

I too had 3 monitors and 3 accounts, everytime one of my wifes friends would come over and see it for the first time they would ask why and just not understand lol.
