I just tried to do the math on this. If I am correct, this would mine more than an Apoc with miner II's. I even think it out mines the large barge with strip miner I's.
Osprey with 3 MDCM II's and tech II crystals.
Hmm?

Apoc with 8 miner II's = 480 base mining yield
Osprey with MDCM II's and crystals II = 420 BMY/minute
Large barge with strip miner 1's = 621 BMY/minute (this includes the 15% ship bonus, because no other ships have it)
I hate to be the one breaking it to you, but your math sucks tbh.

I'm currently using an Osprey with bog standard Miner II lasers, and with the skill bonuses, it already outmines the small barge.
Could you actually fit 3 MDCMs, in terms of CPU capacity? I'm away from my PC at the moment and would love to know if it's possible.

Nothing owns a barge with modulated strip miner II's, and poc doesnt even pwn the barge with standart strip miners.
Thats the point of the barge...

I still need a day or so to make sure, but without any crystals the MDCM II's take 337 ore each. I dont know if you remembered to add the ship bonus for the Osprey. 20% extra yield per level. once I get the crystals I will post again.

and don't forget to round down depending on the volume of the ore you're mining.
you can't have half-untis in your cargo hold.
and if we're talking common ores then Drones add a substantial ammount of volume.
just choose a mining ship and stick with it. hypothetical math can only take you so far, and alot of peolpe get scared by it and their whole descision making process gets paralysed . . . just play dammit

Equipment:
Apo with 8 Miner II
Osprey with 3 Modulated deepcore miner II
Large Barge with Stripminer II
Crystals if applied
Apo mines:
8 * 60 * 1,25 * 1,25 = 750 units per minute (base) ( 8 times miner two times skill mods)
Osprey mines:
(3 * 120 * 1,25 * 1,25 * 2 * 1,75)/3 = ~652 units per minute (3 times modulated deepcore miner, times skill bonus, times crystal bonus,defided by 3 minutes)
Large barge:
(3 * 360 * 1,25 * 1,25 * 1,15 * 1,75)/3 = 1132 units per minute (3 times mdoulated strip miner times skill times crystal devided by 3 minutes)
I dont know for sure but an osprey with regular miner II mines better than your osprey.
Edit: deep core cycle is 3 minutes I think you forgot that one.

It should be 8 * 60 * 1,25 * 1,25
Miner II base = 60
