I am wondering if CCP would consider a Player Owned Carrier to launch "Other Players" instead of NPC dronies. These players would be in a "wardroom" stasis, much like docking without the "Captains Quarters" turned on. Players would launch, engage and dock with this carrier. Maybe impose a penality time for damaged ships to be repaired. Carrier Captain does nothing more than assist, maybe through Warfare Links and such. I wonder what the effect on Factional Warfares would be? Or any fleet ingagement in low or null space? |

I'm sure there are many tech reasons beyond my understanding why this can't happen. What I do know is this won't happen because of exploits. What happens if carried or ship inside logs? Is there character stuck logged in? |

Considering CCP don't seem to like carrier-refitting from what I've heard (even though its one of the few mechanics that actually keeps PVP dynamic) this seems to be in the opposite direction for them so I doubt it would happen. |

It sounds like something that could be fun to play with. Make PC pilot-able 'fighters' or mini frigates. Allow carriers to carry them, and players that are logged on can dock up with, jump along with, and fly from a carrier with some type of bonus from it.
It would be almost a mini game, with really the only true advantage being player controlled fighters, but still fun as hell I would think.
Doubt it will ever happen, but that is a nice concept.
+1 for fun concept. ;) |

yeah, we could then introduce the concept of drunk fighters and fighterbombers. |

Super Carriers used to have clone vats. With ships stored inside, what you are seeking was basicly available in those days.
Dunno why they nerfed it... I don't think many people used the feature any how. |

There was speculation for a time the term "Mothership" was taken away from SC for later use as a possible role such as this. CCP even stated that the term "Mothership" did not fit with their general roles in fleets after they were changed/buffed. There still remains some speculation that a Mothership type ship would be similar to or greater then a Titan if CCP ever felt that ship role should be revisited.
So really, who knows. |

Have carrier with frigates in it and ganglinks fitted. Players ship into frigates at the carrier. Mission accomplished. |

Can't find the source I'm afraid it was just a forum post a while back where it was stated that it was intended for use out of combat and they had thought of revising it. |
