Any comments on this fit for solo/small group hunting?
Vagabond Perma-MWD
I figure I'll orbit at about 25-27km. If I can get within about 24km I can use RF EMP which increases the DPS from 400 to 490 ish (although with poorer falloff).
Constructive comments welcome.

Ok... thanks, I think.
I guess I'll have to go onto the test server and give it a shot but I'm sure I've seen perma-MWD setups on Vagas working well enough for others.
If what you say is true there's a guy I know who shouldn't ever get any kills, but he does, frequently.
So, second opinion then anyone? Are perma-MWD Vagabonds an extremely rubbish idea? |

That's what I will do, thanks.
tbh, if I am at 25km then a 0.1rad/s or higher should be plenty for my gun tracking (mathematically speaking), that like 6deg per second.
But let's assume the perma-mwd is bad m'kay? In that case I could trade speed for dps and simply pulse it to maintain distance when needed? |

My thoughts exactly. |

Having looked into this for a while now I am starting to conclud that solo PvP is a lot harder than it used to be.
But for a player who fancies solo running through low sec once every now and again for laughs, looking for opportunist kills, I am struggling to find a better option than the vaga for that sort of price bracket.
True, it may not have the dps to solo everything it finds, but it can still pack a decent wallop and is still one of the fastest cruisers you can buy.
This last point is important for a solo opportunist; the ability to pick your fights, survive gate camps and gtfo when things go south.
Of course, I will likely not survive getting counter ganked by a high tech group with rapiers, lokis or arazus but not much else would either.
The perma mwd thing may not be the best idea but, if I practice and pick my fights intelligently, I may still be able to survive for a while. |
