Hey all. Started playing yesterday (wow, that interface is... cluttered). Getting moderately horrible lag (I think - slowdown anyway), even when doing things which AFAIK should be entirely client-side (like closing open windows). Makes actually doing anything a bit of a pain (particularly in space stations). Is that the same for everyone, or is there something odd with my setup (which is well above the minimum spec, except for the graphics card which only just makes the grade)?

Logged in again and all was fine and dandy. Played quite happily for a little while, and then opened the "People and Places" window. Which introduced the horrible slowdown again. Something to do with the corp bit of that window I think, only closing it again doesn't fix the problem...

Eve has some memory leaks and there was reports that the people and places made the client lagging how much memory do you got and what for comp.

LOL i know whats wrong.
Vox you just joined the game, thus your are automatically put into a default *noob* corporation. Since all new players are put into these the member counts is very high. Selecting your "Corp Members" tab in ppl and places is telling your computer to pull up ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR CORP. Thus it's going to lag while it's doing this.
Likewise for your chat, it's goign 2 be crowded and take a while 2 load. For the chat just turn off it's blinker so it doesn't annoy you and don't try and figure out who all your corp members are b/c it WILL lag and there really is no point to it.

You might wanna join a NPC corp for the time being. These ussualy have a low member count and it helped me lessening the lag before I got at the point I could join my own corp (which office was in another region).

Here is what I just did to fix the lag... I cancelled my subscription. I have lost two Ravens in the last two weeks fully decked out with tech II stuff. It took me a long time to build up to them and I get blown up first in a LVL 3 mission and then two weeks later in a LVL 4 mission because I am not able to do anything. Once I finally warp in, I am already blown up. This program sucks. So the best way to solve the lag is to quit. I will take my $20 a month US, and play a different game. Taurus 6345 signing out... for good!
