As many of the new players know, Eve now makes all new players that are up to 30 days old, Automatically join channel "Rookie Help" so that they don't lose it, Which is a great idea, but with 1000-1500 people in there all spamming questions, and only a handful of people to answer these questions.. is it effective? Well I didn't think so, I've been playing Eve now about 18 days or so. I was in the channel the other night, and asked one of the GM's(I guess) to please ban me. which he/she did, And thats when the trouble started. Now I get a popup every second, because the game is automatically trying to join the rookie help channel and since i'm banned it sends me a warning popup. These popups keep stacking on my screen until its completely covered in them, which lags my computer to a crawl. It seems the GM's or whatever they are can Ban, but they can't unban. They thanked me for finding the bug, but the only solution they could offer me at that time was to delete my character. Which I worked hard on for almost 3 solid weeks. So I told them i'd like to keep my char. I can no longer play the game and wish that I just left it alone. I sent them a petition, hopefully this gets fixed.

Edited by: ERGONOMIC on 14/04/2005 14:50:46 and deleting the prefs.ini file in eve cache folder dont fix the thing ? If the channels to join are in it, should be ok after that...

I'm sure that a local file that can be edited won't be the place where CCP store what you are allowed to access and what you aren't.

i was not thinking about allowed but about what channel the client will tried to acces at startup... by sample in past this was interacting on you mails, cleaning cache will have put all them as unread... you have also all you bookmarks folders names, your waypoints, your cargo options in the prefs.ini... have a look on it you have so many things :)
