I would like to know when some new skills are being implented Like lab operations ? its hard to keep the research going when we have to use every lab slot 1 time every 3 days. A skill like lab operation would help alot then. becurse how should 4 researchers ever have time to use 30 research slots in 24 hours ?

also using a lab that offen does not help me as i work away from home for 4 days on the trot... we lost all our lab slots this week!

Why do 4 researchers NEED 30 slots?!?! Since you can only use 1 slot at a time. Release the other slots, (that you can't use anyway), and your problem is solved.

1.) Why using more lab slots than you need anyway? The new renting rules was meant to have exactly that way, that you CANNOT rent them continually, so others have a chance to rentthem, too.
2) Not with lab operations, that skill (when it's finally available) gives you the ability to use one additional lab per level.

I can understand having to be away for a few days and losing a slot. But to be honest I've a hard time dredging up a LOT of sympathy since until this change I hadn't been able to find ANY research slots and I did search through many regions including those in 0.0 space with stations.
As for the fellow trying to maintain 30 slots with 4 people. *sigh* YOUR an example of why the change was necessary.
On second thought, I would be interested in hearing your argument for why 4 people should lock up 30 research slots. I can be convinced but it will require a reasoned and logical argument...
To be honest, I'm not expecting a lucid reply but, there is always the exception.

30 slots for 4 ppl is griefing, I agree. But I am my corp's science officer with science 4 (won't do 5 until CCP makes it worth my while) and i should be able to do more than 1 piece of research at a time. Right now any guy can spend 15 minutes and 40K ISK and be able to run and use the same single lab slot as me. I lost my 3 slots and my corps 3 slots in this patch, and when I had the chance to get them back I made the hard choise to only take 2 for the corp and none for myself, as I can't see how I can be there 24/7 carefully doing 1 bit of research on each slot in 5 days *just to maintain them*. Science officer's job has become trying to keep the slots, rather than planfully researching and copying BPs.
Many ppl have said either give us Lab operations to buy (make it very expensive, a Science 5 ability and a 5X training modifier if you like) or allow us to operate one lab per level of Science , or 2 labs at Sci 4, 3 labs at Sci 5 etc.
Base the number of labs you can use and own on available skills. And don't allow anyone to own more slots than they can operate themselves, and don't allow a Corp to own more slots that their combined members have the skills to use, perhaps less the ammount the individuals already have.
That would be better than the current patch, which was not the best idea in the first place, but obviously was also very buggy in implementation. Missing BPs and lost research anyone?

yeah.. you got a point there.. we have lowerd our amount of reearch labs.. but the reason why 4 researchers should keep the research slots is becurse we have more and 4 researchers. anyway. hope they have fices that bug whit the research slots so I dont have to worry about loosing any more time on my cruiser research !
