How does this help EVE though? Death is definitely not without cost but at least let us keep 60% - 80% of hull value? Is this just another way to chase away new players? |

Insurance makes about as much sense as cargo scanners. Both should be removed from the game. |

New Players without a lot of money fit T1 modules so most of their cost is the hull itself. Insurance is good for them but after 3 months new policies should be revoked in their entirety.
By then they should know enough to not fly what they can not afford to lose. |

How would the removal of insurance help EVE grow? Or is it that most are of the opinion that there are to many isk faucets?

On that track if free ISK helps EVE grow then why make ships cost money at all.
Kind of defeats the purpose of having to buy a PvP Ship when you get most of that back anyway. |

Because insurance is an isk faucet & we need less faucets.

The more accurate answer is insurance only takes in to account the average prices of the minerals used to build it. It doesn't calculate the costs of T2 & T3 stuff well because you're using so many different materials & very little of those are actually minerals.
