People play MMOs, for the most part to play with others. I swear to God corporations are going to start asking for blood samples for membership in this damn game.

I come from WoW dude, I'm not used to this crap. You hook up with some cool folks, they send an invite, you join and kill stuff together.

 Jesus,Mary and Joseph man...

I get defending against spies, but s**t.

The average noob just does not have the patience for this idiocy. Is that good or bad, w/e. Facts are facts and if they want to grow, they need to figure this crap out. The ONLY thing keeping me in EvE is the fact that I'm a truck driver so the skilling system fits well with my schedule. Someone else who's home every day and has access to tons of other games due to a more forgiving schedule? Pffft...
Go back to WoW; and I don't even mean it on a sarcastic or an insult or anything, but really, Eve's not for everyone, there are those who fit right in, some are ok with most of what's going on and how the game works, some just, well, not Eve material and no, once more, I'm not insulting your perspective or what you might have expected out of Eve, but to make it clear, here's what one of the quotes one dev said about this particular topic :

CCP Soundwave wrote:It isnGÇÖt really hard, but I think there are customers that you can lose in a good way and thereGÇÖs customers that you can lose in a bad way. If people come in and fundamentally donGÇÖt like EVE Online, then I think that might be a good way of losing customers. EVE isnGÇÖt for everyone. I wish it was, but the reality is that there are some people who just enjoy playing another game more. And thatGÇÖs not really that bad. While I do agree that the tutorial part of Eve should somehow be 'fixed' or majorly improved. Eve is what it is, the case you mentioned is what happens when everyone can do everything (sandbox) in a singlesharded gaming environment. You either adapt or just get out. Sorry.

We finally get an answer to the ages old question of who wins in a firefight between Stormtroopers (who couldn't hit the broadside of a sand crawler at point blank range) and Red Shirts (who don't survive more than 30 seconds). The most likely answer is that they all get blown up by an orbital strike.

 10 years? Let's see

 Real world / CCP

 - 1.000 employees
 - complete independent power supply through offshore wind parks
 - chopper landing(s) spot on the rooftop(s)
 - CCP employees own 51% of the company (consortium, companionships etc.)

 Web / Forums

 - only GD left, 10 moderators
 - the usual QQ threads (local, ECM, hi / lo / null etc.)

 Ingame / EvE universe

 - WiS is now a part of DUST (PC version), capsuleers love to slaughter each other in hisec stations
 - China and TQ joined to one big universe, several hundreds of thousand people online
 - T3 of everything (ships, mods, implants etc.)
 - EvE - the movie Part 2 (about Amarr and Minmatar by Ridley Scott, Part 1 by James Cameron was about Caldari vs. Gallente) starts in cinemas all over the world, pushing the pilot subscriptions over 5 Mio. worldwide
 - first 400 m SP players appear
 - Jita 4-4 is not the only hub anymore
 - plex is about 2 bil ISK worth
 - null is crowded, low still dead

EVE has got to the point where the galaxy is a bit too small. I think we need to add like ten new regions or something to make this game really intresting again. Prehaps open up the evegate or some other huge wormhole? This game can't survive on niche alone, atleast not in ten years from now if current mmo trends are any indication.

WiS and dust are far from the best thing to prioritise right now, they are here to add flavour to the game but should not be taken too seriously.

At the current rate, about the same place that The Realm Online is now.
It is disheartening to see a game once steeped in cerebral thought and innovative thinking become so homogenized by entitlement and malaise; that indidviduals should instill a theme park existence through a lack of desire to overcome any and all obstacles and instead demand things be made easier for them via nerfs.

Science theories that are currently outside of linked up theory become a predominant theme in EVE.

Space above and below the New Eden Cluster will be connected via chargeable jump drives, they will accomodate player owned stargates, lead to both null-sec and hi-sec and will require a corporation password to activate.

New fiction links up New Edens past, political overtones and cultural reasoning to the point where history in New Eden is now 2 decades long.

Ships would have been rebalanced to the point of a bona fide rock paper scissors format, with the same relationships available in groups of 3, 5, 9 and above 15 causing organised human behaviour to be manifest in ways that have previously only been exemplified in bacterial lifeforms.

The single shard universe will remain single shard, but new oope posts will discuss the relevance of shard when compared to CCP's new server housed in mouse brain cells on top of an electron-sheet.

Quantum Computing and the codifying language needed will have been rolled out several times in several different versions and will be obsolete.

The computer you will use to play EVE will be soo small, if someone makes you sit playing for long enough, until you sneeze you could lose your pc, smell-this technology becomes inundated with pepper-spray requests via Distributed-Provision-of-Pepper-Spray attacks.

CCP have released some of the concepts that have been waiting for Customer demand to exceed the currently inferior levels (compared to re-balance / profitability requests)

Some players have opted to freelance for CCP and space vampires are now a bona fide faction.

Untold events surrounding the Ancient races have had sequential play in the societal mainstream causing many players to discuss openly new technological concepts arising from mutual understanding, leading to adaptive modules like the Armor Phasing module to become available for every slot.

CCP Fozzie won several awards for work carried out balancing, to equilibrium, phased effect modules that vary in potency from one second to the next.

New Module requiring a hi-slot has been developed that allows players to apply one damage-type change to charges+ammo once fired.

Panoramic goggles have been incorporated into the EVE spectrum and all HUD elements are now viewable in areas of vision representing their location in the, now understood, brain.

Extra-Vehicular-Activity is still a major lure for new players in the EVE experience, and youtube is saturated with videos showing in-game players stood next to airlocks with full-feel suits now in easily obtainable supply outside of game.

Interesting question and the answer is no one knows lol,but i would speculate that
1)Eve and Dust have merged into one massive game, and players can fly ships or fight as dust soldiers /mercs,as they please.
2)All the mini professions are a playable game in their own right, but intergrated so EVE/Dust as a whole makes sense.
3)The forums will still be full of moans and gripes (Human nature )lol
4)There will be a new BOB or Goons ,everybody moans about
5)There will be new factions ,and thus new faction ships for us to drool over
6)the EVEverse will have twice as many systems as it has now.
7)Blob warfarebecomes more and more expensive ,and SOV changes mean planets matter
