Edited by: unit01 on 16/04/2005 17:03:50 Hopefully this is a bug.
I run a gankapoc and everything was dreamy before patch day.
When running missions with a friend i have to switch crystals a lot for ranges.
I have the following 8 of each Multi Ultra Infra Radio
Whenever i switch crystals say on 5 of my beams 2 will actually get the right crystals fitted but 3 of them will come out with no crystal and i have to reload them(prepatch this sometimes happened but not that much to cause an irritation). If i reload those 3 beams that didnt fit the crystals 2 of them will get the right crystals and 1 wont plus the other two beams that in the first place did get the right crystals fitted will become unfitted with their respective crystals.
Now imagine trying to go into battle and not being able to see whats going on cause u have to constantly watch your fittings to make sure their fitted correctly.
Is this a bug or is a new feature that ccp made? If its a feature u just made another amarr player lose his patience with you.
another thing is consider the time that it will take to get ure beams running now and by the time that you do get all your crystals fitted the npc's moved to a new range and you have to fit new crystals. In effect this has made my apoc utterly useless in missions now.

It's a Bug I've seen it as well. What works for me it to take abit more time between each weapon's crystal change. You know change a crystal wait half a second change the next and so forth instead of changing them all as fast as possible. I'm guessing when you change them fast as possible the item get gummed up in the server cause it takes time to confirm each change and isn't availible for comfirmation of other crystal change requests for a short duration. One other possible fix it to break all your crystals up into groups of 1 so that when you change your first weapon it only grab the first crystal serverside instead of the whole stack.

I have all my crystals not stacked. makes it a lot faster getting crystals loaded.
But it seems the bug is that the server doesnt seem to notice that your say putting crystal1 in the beam and when u change crystals on a different beam the server grabs say the first crystal (crystal1).
so it seems its kinda like a server not updating your crystal options.

Tho lenses being bugged now I observe how you can reload the all the sieges extremely fast having only 1 pile. Even the most fastest reloading and you still have the reload option available. _________________________________

Okay this is not a bug anymore.
Do yourself a favour. instead of having your crystals all split up rather have them all stacked.
then switch your crystals. damn it works beautifully Seems ccp did something to the time that it takes for a batch of commands to be sent to the server.
Places where you can see this is the reloading selections and also in the refining section. If you refine now its immensely fast but your items dont get updated after every item. Seems only after your whole batch of smelting is finished does the updated list of hangar get sent upstairs to ccp

I have had a bug report on this assigned to me. Its not at the top of my list, as there are a range of other things I have to get out of the way as they are more important. But it is there. -- Richard CCP Programmer. Anything said above is not the official line, but my own take or opinion. |

I have a similar bug while using hybrid ammo. When reloading more than one turret at the same time I often end up with some of them not being reloaded. That never happened before the last patch.

It's the stacking thing; previously reloading worked best if you had a seperate stack for each gun, whereas now it works best if you have it all stacked together. It doesn't split the stack then load the split ammo any more, it loads directly from the stack, and if you have it split then all the turrets try and grab the same ammo. It's still a bug, but keeping all your stuff stacked should work 99% of the time.

If you want to get the crystals into the gun after showing "empty", click reload.
It's there since before the last patch and happens if you use the "same" crystal twice in two guns, while the first gun is still showing the "switch animation".
Just click 'em all thru and hit "reload" on the guns that show empty. --- Dr. Peter Venkman and Gottfried the pet skunk
