As a retired Caldari Major,I was thinking about having my Corp. rejoin the Caldari Militia and was in the process transferring assets to my low sec PI operations system as a stepping off point. The system is in Caldari space but is currently under Gallante control so there are Caldari Militia plexing in that system. I know it's been along time since my corp was in the Militia, but one of my alts was doing PI in an Orca and was attacked by four members of the Caldari State, specifically Caldari State Capturing.
When I was in Caldari Militia because primarily of our greater numbers,we were NRDS, Proud Pirate hunters keeping the Black Rise lanes clear and preventing the Gallante Militia from coming into Caldari space. We would never POD unless a Caldari Character was IN the Gallante federation. The Gallante were NBSI, didn't care about plexing and would Pod anybody for no reason and were just in it to Grief.
After talking to members Super Chair, Sean Parisi, Numistic and JAKE IMMF of Caldari State Capturing, they were telling me when they saw the Orca on scan , they stopped plexing went out of thier way to attack an unarmed ship and then POD me. I was then informed that the Caldari Militia had turned into NBSI. Hell they even said that Caldari Militia Corps even war dec one another. First they said that I was in a Gallante war zone, when that argument didn't hold then they said because I bribed heavely the pirate group in the system to be Blue to them so I was an accessory so that was justification. So when I informed them that even the Russian Pirate group in the system have attacked but never podded me, they confessed they just like to blow things up.
So my question is, is this what the Caladari Militia has turned into? There used to be a difference between the Caldari State and Gallante Militia now are they are both made up of ganker grifers and asshats? I sure won't be joining anytime soon.

People in low-sec shoot stuff, most militia pilots bother "civilians". Some exceptions are of course like Nasranites. However, looking at battleclinic you seem to have habit of losing lot of freighters to low-sec so I am not entirely sure if militia life would be for you.
Or then you are just a gallente alt engaged in asymmetrical warfare on forums against your mortal enemy. Either way, makes no difference.

thing is that all militias together form fleets to gank civilians, so those fleet can have memebers from amarr, minmatart, gallente and caldari militia and they come to just gank your neutral orca.

Because things change, juicy targets are scarce, and being a pirate and in militia are not mutually exclusive things?
edit: also... e-honor in a pixel based spaceship game is overrated.... most of the time (I let the odd newbie or solo pilot pod go once in awhile).
edit2: if you dig far enough into someone's past you'll find some sort of justification for shooting them (George, why are people looking at Lemmy funny?). Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Bad news I am afraid. Loads of Amarr militia joined the Caldari after the Minmatar broke the Amarr. They have infected the Caldari with whining, trolling, blobbing, ganking, neutral alts etc etc. Also Fweddit.
Also, Orca in low sec? No Orca is neutral, they are all looking at someone funny or secret Amarr/Caldari/Gallente/Minmatar sympathisers. Even a blue Orca would probably be a victim of accidental friendly fire.
Join the Amarr, they are now purged of the unclean and moderately decent again.

FW pilots are mostly privateers these days. They get paid by one sovereign nation to shoot ships bearing the flag of another sovereign nation, and many engage on opportunistic piracy on the side. Think Letters of Marque.
The old-fashioned loyalists trying to uphold the ideals of their faction while sticking to NBSI and anti-pirate activity are a dying breed. There are still some out there - I think you'll find more in the Minmatar / Amarr front than in the Gallente / Caldari warzone. Most of them tend to be RP-focused groups. |

The correct question is: "When did the militia's get up this morning?"
Thanks to the ramp-up in alt use that started some three years ago, any 'neutral' is generally considered a spy (as is most in FW NPC corp). As a result anyone not with one of the established corps are shot on sight and complaints funnelled into the tear reclamation units of these very forums.
In short: Not pirates, asshats or griefers. Just making the most of the fail CCP could be bothered with implementing. |

A lot of militia members these days are basically privateers, but even those who aren't pirates are generally operating on hair triggers. An Orca is potentially a jeep carrier for the sort of small ships that can make a faction warrior's life miserable, after all, and the fact that you're technically neutral don't mean diddly in a hot zone - holding to NBSI is a good way to get back-shot, as I've learned the hard way, and just because you're showing neutral, that doesn't mean you can't be fleeted up with war targets. |

Thank you for your comments and confirmation of the current state of factional Warfare. I am disappointed but not surprised, so I will not be joining the fight in FW's current interation. It is hard to believe there is not enough war targets to keep guys like Caldari State Capturing busy. My only guess is that the Gallante/Minmitar militia is kicking their arses so badly that they have to attack unarmed neutrals to take out their frustration, better that than taking it out on their wives. To be clear it wasn't the just the loss of the Orca, as has been noted I have lost a number of freighters in low sec over the last 2 years. With my PI ALTs I extract enough materials to make 2 large Caldari towers and a Soventry Blockade unit per day. So losing a freighter a couple times a year is not that big of a deal.
Every 2 months a new group of asshats moves into the low sec system and have to bribe conjole and schmooze so I can continue my ops. The problem is of all the loses to Pirates, Russians, gankers and greifers, it was the Caldari Militia who felt the need to Pod me. |

These terrible Caldari pirates are their own worse enemy - biting the hand that feeds them. I suggest you join the Gallente militia, farm in our space where almost all of our systems are at Tier 5. Pick a nice and quiet system like Eugales which has ice belts and is next to a secure high sec system. Or better yet, help us kick them out of that area and then you won't have to deal with them ever again because they won't be able to dock up. Win/win for all. An Orca in lowsec without an escort is just asking to be popped. Hell, why is it in lowsec? Definitely moving something important and worth shooting. And if it isn't worth shooting, the km will probably be worth the minor security hit. Podding is a meh issue, I would've at least given the option for a ransom on it
If you can afford the loss so readily, why not invest in some alts to be scouts? And while you're at it, only fly safely and properly aligned. Then short of an interceptor hunting you, you won't get caught. I hope you would've learned that by now given your losses. There's a fundamental difference between the existence of non-pirates (hi!) and the non-existence of pirates.
EVE is, fundamentally, a dystopia. It's an ugly, nasty slice of creation, and while good people do exist in New Eden, there's no guarantee that anyone you meet will be one. You'll be attacked for your goods, for the potential threat you may pose, for the entertainment of others.
And, fundamentally, it's a universe at war. I, personally, wouldn't dare bring an Orca into non-CONCORD-policed space without a string of scouts and a pile of escorts. |

oh yeah, the problem about FW Role Players and FW leechers is old just like this game.
Personally i go GCC only when we need to clear out strangers and intruders (i.e. when some neut enter my plex) but you're talking about people that is unable to find his own targets and divert fire on easy and harmless people.
I hate that, seriously, expecially if people act like pirates with a militia uniform to cover their asses.
Thats why i don't like "drunk and disorder" and "wolf brigates" (too many ex amarr, pirates, actual asshats, ***** blobbers) and thats why i love fweddit, agony and ofc most of the minnie alliances involved in the FW.
It seems that be NBSI is just like to be pirate, what is the difference? as for me pirates do not shoot blue, isn't it?
p.s. once i was in a fleet, we were about to jump into a great fight, enemies was reshipping and preparing for us, and the FC plus 2-3 friends decided to go gcc against a neut stabber fleet....... is that an opportunity or an idiot attitude? they didn't kill the sfi and we lost the opportunity to engage the wt's. boring.
my 2 cents on that

It goes like that IRL and in EVE. |

It's not about shooting harmless or easy people. It's about shooting what is there when there is opportunity.
I don't know what it is like where you base from but in Black Rise you end up lose sec status just by protecting yourself. Once it's gone you might as well just keep shooting stuff cause it can't get any worse than it already is.
There are many in FW with low sec status that are not pirates. Fix this **** See Sea Pea. |

I don't shoot neutrals till they shoot me, it's just my choice of playstyle. It's not that I travel into highsec, wich you can do even as -10. There are plenty of "reds" to be had where my corp bases. I kinda like the challenge of keeping my sec status up and participating in pvp. Anyone can go negative in a matter of seconds if they really want.
Most other people living in lowsec will pretty much blowup anything that gets in range though so you definately shouldn't be surprised that someone would go after your juicy orca. |

Lone Gunman wrote:As a retired Caldari Major,I was thinking about having my Corp. rejoin the Caldari Militia and was in the process transferring assets to my low sec PI operations system as a stepping off point.
It's an orca. Does anyone really need to justify why they would gank that? |

Why do people always seem so shocked when this happens? Crimewatch 2.0: Protecting stupid people & rewarding lazy people. This hurts the smart & industrious people by making their intelligence & industry provide them with less benefit over the stupid & lazy people. ~ Ruby Porto |

I think the shooters have made a mistake. That happens in EVe a lot. I think you should buy another Orca and autopilot it back home. Give it another go. |
