Ok maybe somebody can clear this up for me. On the stats for my strip miner I's i get roughly 960 ore units per laser. Strip miner II's i get about 1700 in total which is getting on for double. Using Strip Miner I's my cargo is filled to roughly 2900 per cycle, however with the strip miner II's using tech I crystals(which arn't worn out and are brand new) i only get my cargo to 3100 per cycle, which is only an increase of 200 :S.
I'm sure this should be a lot more and would be grateful if anybody can shed light on this for me :).

Strip miner I : 540 x 1.25 (Mining 5) x 1.25 (astro 5) x 1.15 (Barge 5) = 970m3
Strip miner II : 360 x 1.62 (TI crystal) x 1.25 (Mining 5) x 1.25 (Astro 5) X 1.15 (Barge 5) = 1047m3
Thats the stats.
The attributes on the crystals are misleading because they list "162%" for the yield bonus, which is in reality multiply by 1.62 (162%)

but the actual attributes (when i have them equipped and it's taken all my skills into account) Strip miner I give 960 ore units per cycle, per laser. Strip Miner II's give 1700..simple as, that should be a lot more of an increase than 200 cargo!

Its a topic that has come up before, I can't explain why the attributes equipped would be displaying a false number, but the stats as they should add up and the items in practise, give those figures I listed.
Perhaps the items now have a graphical bug from the last patch (that would make ooh maybe the tenth graphical bug from the patch :P)

Yes that about sums it up, sounds like they are coming down in price a bit though, last time I looked they were 40+m each.
Wasn't kidding when I said the subject has come up before, general concensus has so far always been that they aren't worth buying unless your a majorly hardcore miner, since they take an age to pay themselves off.

If you can get the strips for cheap, it's worth it. At 10 mill a piece, with t2 crystals, they can pay off in only a few hours of mining an ore like crokite or even bistot.

This is sheer madness - for an extra 200m3 of ore per cycle, there's hardly any point to upgrade at all. Surely this can't be right?
I would have expected that the tech II variant kept at least the same base quantity as the tech I variety? Why only 360 instead of 540!?

They really need to clear this up, tech II mining lasers and crystals for barges are a -joke- at 8.33% (for tech I crystals) and an estimated 16.66% (For tech II crystals) increase. They are not worth researching and using, they are an utter waste of time. At the very least boost the modulated strip miner II's to the base amount of the strip miner I's!
Friggin 99,000,000 isk for a 8.33-16.66% mining increase nonsense..

Okay, we'll even ignore the fact they are a waste of money, how about at least fixing the damn description so we can TELL they are a waste of money. When I see "Speciality crystal mining amount 360" and "Mining amount 360", that says "720" to me! not "oh, we only count in the speciality crystal mining amount". Hell, even after you fit the crystals and undock it shows 2 different amounts! WHY THE HELL IS THAT SECOND AMOUNT EVEN THERE? DO YOU JUST HATE MINERS AND LAUGH AT THEM WASTING ISK ON THIS CRAP?

Using large tech 2 turrets we get a staggering 8% more damage then best named tech 1.

This has been known about ever since they came out months ago.
Strip Miner 2's cost about 3.1 million Isk to make.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY 30 mill to buy one.
Be happy with your Strip Miner 1

Wish people sold em for 3.1m :p
Tech I crystals are useless but tech II are ok, total of 1132m3 per minute on a covetor as apposed to 970m3 with strip Is. Thats 24.3mins compared to 28.4mins to fill a can.
