Can anyone help? Since the patch, I can't get the EULA screen to open, its just a star-filled sky that never loads.
Setup: PIII 1Ghz Windows ME Raedeon 9500
I was playing fine for weeks and now nothing. Any ideas? I sent in a bug report yesterday, but I hate losing a whole weekend not playing!
I've reinstalled EVE, installed ATI's drivers from 3.0 to 3.5 (except the cancelled ones), reinstalled directx 9, cleared out cache, run scandisk, prayed, nothing.
Any thoughts?

To fix this I deleted prefs.ini in the eve/cache folder.

Same here.
reinstalled win2k today.. installed eve from cd and the installed cd to latest patch.
now eve locks up on the EULA screen. it crashed my desktop and then a few seconds later the whole pc locks up.
unable to save any data from the logserver as the pc crashs....

for me this issue was related to the drivers for my 9700pro.
i isntalled the 2nd to latest drivers and it corrected this issue.
working drivers (for me ) are wxp-w2k-radeon-7-90-030605m-009437c-efg

hey i had a similar problem with my geforce 2 mx400 (ya it sucks stop laughing or i'll pod ya) and i fixed it by going back on my nvidia drivers to the ver that was whql cert for the geforce 2/3/4 series and not the most recent whql which is only for the FX series. also the ati cards are known for being a bit flaky.. i have seen the catalyst 3.0 drivers fix similar issues with other games (both online and standalone). the 9700 is awesome... however ati's drivers usually arent.
