A few years ago as a noob in a terrible corp I wanted to pvp. Being with terrible players that I like forced me to teach myself to pvp. Grabbing my trusty rifter I went around the local neighborhood of hek and started can flipping. Great fun lots of fun kills and deaths for a 2 month old noob. Those days are behind me, however when I tried to get my RL friend into eve Low Sec pvp was far to difficult for his non PC master race minds to handle for the time being. Of course I decided I teach them to do what I did to start off and can flip and we enjoyed much sucess and my friend got two battlecruiser kills with his incursus on his first night. Sadly, he could not continue to play for RL reasons.
Now I would like to ask why CCP? Why are you nerfing can flipping? Carebears know the risks involved in pooping their ore and pay accordingly. If anything it gives noob miners a first taste of pvp. |

These new changes are going to be great IMO. Now my jetcan-mining-in-a-cruiser-bait alt doesn't even have to be in my corp! I used to have a clever sig but I lost it. |

Clearly you are looking at this wrong. Now instead of getting flashy to one mining noob by flipping a can you are getting flashy to all of eve by flipping a can. This is a good thing. Now you will have thousands of potential noobs who may shoot at you and then die under your guns. |

The only thing nerfed is ganking noobs, which is bad form anyway.
The previous risk free kills by can flipping gankers has been exchanged for massive potential for open PVP. I am sure gankers will find a way to exploit this. At least now the gankers will have the possibility of a fair fight, or even facing bad odds rather than a guaranteed win.
Ganking is not real PVP. Real PVP requires the target to shoot back. This new change will turn the standard ganking into real PVP and provide more fights for everyone. An actual good PVPer who goes out ganking will now get kills from not only the gank target, but any wanna be PVPer in the area that thinks they can take the ganker. Only the gankers with no REAL PVP skills will be hurt by this change. |

This 100%, and without netral R&R people will go for it, HS combat starts to look very interesting to me after 4th December, hell I might even prefer that to being blobbed by the CFC!!!! |

Out of say 20 people in local, how many would actually take up the challenge, one, two perhaps?
I am pretty sure that after the 4th of december there will be a lot of questions like "OMG, there is a flashy player, what should I do?" to which the common answer will be "Ignore him!" Forum-unbanned since 2011.10.20. |

Exactly my point. This will not hurt high sec PVP. On the off chance someone does engage it is just one more fight. Any skilled PVPer can expect a few fights for every successful gank. But the gankers that are actually afraid of targets that shoot back will be afraid to undock. A win win as far as I am concerned. I don't gank in high sec, not just because I don't enjoy shooting defenseless targets, but because I don't see the point in driving down my security status for a kill that will look embarrassing on my KB.
I will likely shoot at those with active GCC as I do not mind ganking gankers. And if they do fight back I might get a few good fights out of it. |

CCP = Protecting the stupid, rewarding the lazy. Crimewatch 2.0: Protecting stupid people & rewarding lazy people. This hurts the smart & industrious people by making their intelligence & industry provide them with less benefit over the stupid & lazy people. ~ Ruby Porto |

An experienced player will be able to use these new mechanics easily. A noob won't, can flipping in its old form was one of the best ways to introduce new players to solo pvp. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=174097 Separate all 4 empires in eve with lowsec. |

LoL. Can flipping in its old form was one of the best ways to introduce new players to how-to-get-ganked, and frustration by losing their barely-afforded first decent pve ship, or mining boat.
Simply forming a fleet with a person was (and really still is) the best way to introduce new players to pvp and practice. There is a special Hell for people like that, Right next to child molestors, and people that talk in the theater. ~Firefly |

Speaking as someone who fleeted up a dude who complained that he had a mission in lowsec, and got him on comms and everything and scouted him through the gate, then shot him down...and had a matter-of-fact discussion on comms with the dude as to why he should never trust anyone in lowsec. Changes to crimewatch won't alter that.
Speaking as a guy who got his 3 days old noob corpie to jetcan mine around a dude in a Wolf who was can flipping, then used an Execquror on an alt "mining" in hisec to provide neutral RR, which resulted in turning my corpie evil and eventually into one of the Tusker's most prolific pirates (recently), I cannot really see how the Crimewatch changes will really stop this happening more often. In fact, this should occur more often precisely because of the changes. Which is awesome for noobs.
Remember, every noob you lure into lowsec to educate and make them sign off in frustration, there's a noob you can educate and turn them into an evil monster. Aren't those ships are losing their mining bonus?
The new crimewatch system is pretty awesome.... now, instead of dealing with a noob in a mining vessel, you get to flip the universe, and run/fight like crazy... |
