Old school BoB is currently in an alliance called "The Retirement Club". They are likely in tribute doing bomber/blops style work against us right this very second. The full weight of BoB will never be seen again due to the political crapfest that was IT alliance during the Fountain Campaign. This is when some of the richest "Cap Heavy" corporations broke off from IT alliance to form Raidendot, and from my understanding there was a lot of bitterness between the two "sides".

Whatever didn't land in Raidendot or Retirement club seems to have splashed into NCdot.

You could argue that bad blood can be put aside and hatchets burried like it has been between us and PL recently, but from my knowledge of the players involved in the breakup of IT Alliance it's simply not likely.

I am pretty sure SirMolle and his wife are still playing, but after a bunch of humiliating defeats i think the chance is pretty high they lay it low for the time. Anyway, i saw one of Sir Molle's alts in UMI-KK local recently and one of his wife's alts was in Torrinos a few weeks ago. Maybe they sold the toons, but i think they are still around being bitter vets and riding bikes and enjoying a simpler EVE life.

So after creating the most well known Alliances in EVE history (BoB and IT) Molle is probably enjoying his new family life in the US while you all wonder who will step up to be the next Alliance to blob....

sir molle was in fleets during the tribute war.

I think that its a case where real life takes over and a video game takes the backseat. From what I recall Molle was moving to the US and through that transition IT was falling apart due to internal politics. By the time he touched down in the US and got settled in, X13 was on thier way out and the NC was heading south to Fountain to save Goonies and push the momentum back into TEST/Goonies favor. Z30 happened and then the usual 2,000 man station camping exercise started because ~nogudfights~ is allowed under the NC/TEST/Goonie way of doing things etc..

This is a pretty good revisionist history of what went down south. The Northern Coalition showed up in numbers for one op and that was the supercap brawl. Meanwhile we had been smashing IT fleets fairly regularly and taking sov from them.

The NC didn't fully deploy down till the mop up phase and that was post 6VDT for sov grinding. Sure we'd get the occasional "Riding bikes" group coming down, but 20 ahacs is about useless when your flinging 200 man fleets at eachother.

EDIT: Unless you are talking about Widot's involvement, in which case they were actually considered to be "straddle the line" members of both coalitions the same way EXE is today between us and the HBC.

To be fair DB Preacher has been long dead and RKK got a new talking head about two years ago who is actually a likeable individual. He snuck into our coms during a State of the Goonion once and was cool enough to hang around for our QA session where he was brought into the "Speakers channel" so he and our leadership could bullshit while the membership shot questions at them.

I have said it elsewhere but I would love to see Raiden leave the HBC, form back up with the retirement club, absorb a few of the completely useless alliances that are floating around (-A- I'm looking at you), team up with say Nulli and BL and form a real powerbloc that we could fight against again.

As much as I think a war vs the HBC would be entertaining, it's very unlikely to happen because frankly: I have too many bro's over there, and they have too many bro's over here.

Having just left The Retirement Club, I can say say SirMolle and his wife are very much playing eve, but obviously not in the same capacity. Surprisingly 401k compromises of both old Morsus Mihi and Bob corps (who would of thought!)
They want to leave Bob behind, and SirMolle wishes to to lay it to rest. I tried to convince him to bring it back ;)

As far as i was concerned both SirMolle and his wife have my utmost respect. And yes they are in Venal kicking it with BL. But a shadow of their former selves but you know i think they kinda like it that way.

But yeah i would like to see BoB reformed... just as much as i would like to see Triumvirate reformed.

As a relatively new player who finds EVE history pretty interesting, I find it very cool that Molle and his wife still both play the game. Nice to see him post too.

Titans have been a non issue for over a year now.

It's not the on-field prowess of titans that matters but the way they shrink the map. In the NC. v SOLAR fight a couple of months back where PL turned up to help kill 15 supercaps PL were able to project force 33 jumps away from their home system. They could probably project force much further, conceivably across the entire map.

If that's true you can only last in nullsec by being blue to someone with a titan blob big enough to deter the formidable titan blobs of CFC and HBC. Otherwise the more you put on the field the more tempting it is for PL to race across the map to kill you.

Titan bridges are a key element in that kind of force projection as it would be dangerous to deploy titans if it were not possible to deploy supcap support.

CCP introduced rules that made it a pain to post with alts. Good or bad, what mad COAD worth going to was the drama it caused. Once CCP started restricting it the laughs, drama, and news vanished.
