I'm trying to find reasons that would justify my spending of $30 per month playing EvE.
Mining: done that first 9 months. Mfg & Research: been doing that last 21 months. NPC Hunting: done that last 6 months. Trading: done that last 21 months. Agents: done that last 12 months. PvP: done that last 5 months.
I can't find anything else to do anymore

I guess there is nothing left for you to do but quit...shame.
Eventhough I never met you, you were a nice guy and a good friend.
By the way, dont quit. ------------------ What can I lose? My dignity...every single inch of it.

Possibilties are endless. Try inventing something new that no one has thought of. Some unique service or something. If not Then allow me to be the first to say "can I have your stuff?"

There are always new goals you can set in-game.
I needed to change things up last summer as I was becoming bored with the game so I started my corp. It changed the game for me, I met new people, but eventually merged it back into the corp from which I came.
Now that I'm no longer a CEO, things have changed for me again and I am again invigorated to play.
Those same old activities take on a new flavor when you change the backdrop in which you do them. Start you own corp, it's worth a try.

n00b > Hi i wanna pvp how do i do it Exp plyr> get a ship put this and that on it go fight
hey ya start a PvP school

Run a corporation with domination in mind. Set up multiple POS in various systems and become a superpower of your area. Gain respect and trust and crush those who oppose you. In the end you will get what every mmo tries to give its customers, fame. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v441/Dillinger4/Felsin.jpg |

Well here are a few ideas.
Roleplaying: Join Ushra'Khan (sorry for the spelling if it's wrong) and really get into roleplaying a character.
CEO: Start a corp of your own. But it's very important to figure out what you want to do with it before you do it. Give it a strong sense of direction and you can't go wrong. (ie, Mercenary Corp, an Academy type corp for new players, pirate corp, movie making corp)
Hmm.. well there are a few things you can do: Pirating, Ore Theiving, Scamming, etc.
But, maybe all you need to do is just go out and join another corp. A corp that you never considered joining before and in a region of space you hardly ever been to. People are what make this game interesting, maybe you just need some new friends to hang out with.

Use your sizeable funds to hire about 100 ore theives.
Then have the ore theives move like a plague of locusts through Jita, Yulai, etc. and ore theive entire regions to the point of no mining at a time. Keep it up for a month or two and totally ruin 1.0 - 0.5 so everyone has to move to low sec :).
Or do the same with a fleet of 500 miners and stripmine the empire, accomplishing the same goal.
Challenging, yes, but at this point you should be aiming high :). "You Griefer!!!" = "You Doodyhead!!!" |

Thou PvP gets irritating with stuupid balance changes and all those bugs.
Still, try to find any other game that gives you such a huge spectrum of actions.
And yeah, try to do something that will make you fameous.

Great thing about EVE is, things that are fun aren't game mechanics. Game mechanics simply allow you to interact with other players in a (fairly) balanced world. Go do what the people say - make an alliance, and rule EVE with an iron fist! ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

I closed one account already, and putting my remaining account into training mode.
My suggestion if that you are bored, take a break and play another game. let real life catch up with you. Then decide what to do next. _______________________________________________ "Is it me or the bad guys just getting totally pathetic?"---Clover, Totally Spies, "Hope is wasted on the Hopeless."---Mandy, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Maybe you should try to get into the roleplaying scene a little bit, you might like it. You could also try mass-murder, I haven't gotten tired of it yet. ----------------------------

In my experience it's a case of balancing the things you like in the game, if you do something constantly it can become stale quickly.
Although this has already been suggested there is the oppurtunity to start up your own corporation, making it what you want. Roleplay is also an option in the game, which is something my brother thoroughly (sp?) enjoyed.
Do not fear the reaper, for death is the only certainty in life. |

How bout take a break? No, not from EVE, but from 'doing' stuff? Sometimes I have to remember to quit focussing on Mining or Missions and just kick back and roam the universe. It's a big place. Grab your camera and go on tour. Meet new people, see the sights. Have you seen the black monolith? Have you seen the giant statues of ancient heros? Quit working the game and play it for a while.
If you've already done this and are still ready to go, can I have your stuff?

Ive' tried PvP for the last 2 years and still not done all the things I could in this one field alone. This game has relative freedom compared to most MMORPG, which provides tons of depth. Shame you can't find it. Maybe you should try out some new corps.
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |
