Tech 2 builders that like to milk everything out of their customers that don't care how much people would rather have them podded, because they got X billion in their wallet. ---------------------------------- I play EvE and I don't even get a stupid signature. |

Edited by: Threat on 22/04/2005 21:44:14 they sell one for 50 mil, then the buyer puts it on escrow for 150 or more... and gets it. Why whould the reseller get the profit and not the manufacturer? See the post about the T2 XL shield booster in this forum for a similiar story (he tried to do the right thing and was getting hosed). Until all the bp's are out and production is humming along nicely prices will be high.
Besides, it just came out, you have to expect high prices.

most tech 2 ships are priced thru the roof cause bpo's are in the hands of few and components get rarer and rarer since missions dont dish them out like they did ( i dont run mish's anymore and last i heard components were a thing of the past )
the sad thing is it's only going to get worse , the game seems bent on making players focus even more-so on specific skills the ol' jack of all trades day are thru too many skills too many options .... in the end the only people profitting are the ones selling isk on ebay
minerals are going up - miners getting paid tech 2 components going up - POS owners getting paid ships going up - manufacturers getting paid pvp'ers losing ships and getting weak bounties on rats - getting broke

What do you mean by "they". Sorry, total rookie here but are these made by NPCs, or by specific player-corps that have advanced their technology that much?

Edited by: Bowcaster on 24/05/2005 17:19:08 Edited by: Bowcaster on 24/05/2005 17:12:42 There are two parts that go into making a t2 ship.
- t2 research through R&D.. which usually means some really high level R&D agents using the Research Management Project (40 million isk skill), and then once you have those 5 gallente agents churning out RP points for doing practically nothing. (you had to train a bunch of (expensive) skills up, that's what's hard.) After all that you *may* get a t2 nemesis bpo. Which you then hide, or use to produce.
- The next part is the materials. You need first a pos (played owned station), which requires about 47 hours of ice mining per a week, divided by how many ice miners you have. Plus you need random trade goods to keep the pos working. Thanks to how CCP made the material arrangements, you are forced (usually) to buy or trade at _least_ one raw material with another region. (Ex: There is no cobalt in Everyshore; Even though you need cobalt to make a Gallente t2 components.)
And.. since the whole process is very time consuming, and pos's use a ton of fuel (even with the anti-nerfs to fuel consumption), and miners hate mining ice cause it's still a crappy return (even with the anti-nerfs to ice yeild). (Roughly 1 hour = 11-22 million isk.) And then you have the silos, every 20 hours or so you need to dump them out. And then you have complex reactors, that require a load of cpu. Which in fact, makes the caldari tower the only good tower. (+100% silo cap on gallente towers doesn't work.)
After all the work to make a pos work you might get lucky, and have maybe 1 complex reaction figured out. But if you don't have 2-3 players willing to mine ice about 2 hours a day. Or even a market for it. You are forced to either buy (and haul!) from Yulai at a hefty premium, or just forget the whole thing!
Oops.. what I mean is, while getting a t2 bpo is easy, the production setup is very hard. But here's the cool part. While pos owners work really hard to do all this maintainence, and invest their time and money into pos's. The dude with the t2 bpo is able to sell 100%.. to maybe even 1000%'s above their production costs.
So in effect, the really hard working dude may not even turn a profit. (I list those that make the simple t2 raw materials, or simple reactions.) Or could with alot of work. (aka 100 million for a pos, and lots of miners for the ice.) But the t2 bpo owner always turns a profit, and always turns a _huge_ profit.
I'd like to add that the t2 bpc market is a joke. They will sell you a t2 bpc at half the market value of the t2 item, thus at best you will get 100%, but that assumes you paid 0 on t2 construction items, and the t2 skills where free (ha!).
The research alt that does nothing actually gets something is why this system doesn't work. The lottery is completely blind to effort. While the production of t2 components is very much affected by effort on the part of pos owners.
