Ok we all worry about corp theft, so how about to access the corps main secure hangar it would require 2 or 3 passwords from the 2 or 3 main people in corp.
It could work like the trade window, but with spaces for passwords, so if you wanted to take a bpo from the corp you instigate a transferr window and each of the main copr members have to enter their passwords before the item can be releqased to whoever wants it.

The recent UQS robbery happened because they *trusted* the Thief.
That system wouldn't help for that at all. Besides hangers are should be locked anyway, if you give access to your valuables to a ny old person in the corp, you deserve to get ripped off.

and what happens if the person that 'wanted' it ran off with it? oh yeah, we would arise at the situation that ACTUALLY happened. The difference was that he was granted access to the hanger by one of of the top 2 or 3 people by way of the current 'rights' system.

Well it would stop someone from taking everything as it would be unlikly that 3 people would agree to let someone take everything.

They had multiple people that infiltrated the corp and looted multiple hangars simultaneously.
Want to know what I do to prevent corp theft? I keep the valuables out of the corp hangars. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

yep...corp hangers are for what you are willing to give away to corpees. Directors should keep corp properties of importance, in thier own hangers.
This goes for the corp wallet. Distibute enough to whom needs isk, ceo should keep the rest safe, or at least split with the co-ceo

every heard of sercure cans...?
really u cant stop corp theft..if u use it to store weapons and modules for corp member use.....u gonna naturaly give it to members thus aloowing them the oppertunity....in my corp we have a CEO hanger which is locked along with the manufacturing hanger...ore comes in...none goes out....bp's are looked after by high members in the corp.....but then all u got to do is spend sum time impressing the ceo etc and then u get access to all the hiher stuff.....if u wnt it sercure....give access to who needs it...and keep other items away from members in a locked hanger..or in passworded cans ----------------------------------------------- The Only Way To Stop Violence Is To Kill Everyone |

To end this discussion once and for all....
The reason most why corp thefts occur is not because of lax security, lack of complicated access rights systems or any kind of security...
The real reason is TRUST or rather misplaced trust.
People earn the trust of corp CEO's and advance in the ranks until they gain said rights to access hangars with the valuables which they then take.
What makes corp thefts really a big issue isn't the lost ingame revenue or properties but rather the feeling of having been betrayed by someone you trusted.
you can't bend trust to fit some security mechanics...and therefore EVE is all about human nature and interaction.
Better end this before it becomes a essay on morality.

EVE mechanics should allow corp theft...but they should also allow the masses to lynch corp thieves... ___________________________________________ ^^^***---All things serve the Beam---***^^^ |

see the pretty words in bold? they ensure your not playing a mining sim. There is nothing wrong with corp theft, it was intended by the devs, and tolerated by the GM's.
Get over it allready.

oh, and no, the idea's a rubbish one, theres allready plenty of ways to stop theft as it is, GHSC were able todo what the did by gaining the theifs trust before robbing them.

there is no way to prevent corp theft, besides A not having a corp, or B never trusting anyone in corp, which basically goes back to A.
you can limit the dmg by keep the wealth in personal assests.... but the the rest might not trust you.... or you them.
Basically there is no way to have a "comunal" corp that actually helps its members and shares without risk of theft.. thats easily part of the game.

Like I said, corp theft is all good and fine...we just need some way to respond to it. It's POSSIBLE to embezzle funds from a corporation and then leave (or NOT leave) but you can still get arrested for it. ___________________________________________ ^^^***---All things serve the Beam---***^^^ |

i think the "not baing able to leave a corp for 24hr's after wishing to" rule tried to cover corp thefts...it gives the corp 24hrs to find a do wot is needed to avenge their loss....but that was wipped out...all u need to do to leave a corp straight away is get an offer from another corp and u transfer corps just like that.
