Ok, I do alot of solo mining in places were solo mining really isn't advised. And it has cost me more then a few indys. But I am getting ahead of myself.
About 2 months ago in an extreamly lucky drop I got a 25% expander. I was thriled to death and braged to my corp buddies. As soon as I was able I slaped this expander onto my indy (a mammonth) and started to put it to work. Well as often happens, 1 mining op I missjuged when the rats were going to come back and got blown up. when my surviving modules were colected, lucky me still had the Expander. Infact of the 4 expanders on the ship it was the only one left.
Well Mammonths go boom, and Mammonths get replaced.
When I got my next one I slaped that expander on it and went about my eve life with out a though about it. Then after a time, I did the same mistake and Boom, another Mammonth is nothing but a can and dust. But once again when I colected my stuff, there was my best expander.
This got me to thinging that it may be a lucky expander (although how lucky can it be if the ships it is on keeps blowing up?) Anyway, latter that day I go throught the truble of putting together yet anoher mammonth.
2 nights ago guess what happened. Thats right another misscaculation, another dead mammonth (really just the cost of mining solo in 0.0) And once again when I went to pick up my stuff. THere it was! MY WOUNDERFUL CARGO EXPANDER!!
Now including the npc that had it to begin with, that makes 4 ships that little expander has lived through.
I love that expander

Note to anyone that can see that man in a hauler..
Kill him. Hope the lucky expander survives and keep his POD locked down. Eject lucky expander and lock onto it. Then ransom it

i had a lucky MWD, it survived over 5 rifters, then i lost it during a war, i bet the new owner isn't giving it the tender loving care like i did, activating it gently, not over using it, polishing it, never leaving it away from its other MWD friends
i miss it still, other MWDs just aren't the same

Not sure if it's random chance, but named models seems to have a better chance of surviving then stock modules. Much to the delight of all the pirates.

Nice story.
I once had an arblest standerd launcher that somehow lasted 4 differant PVP claw losses, and always found its way back to me. Once I even had to kill the guy who killed me to get it back but I got it. m0o eventually killed me, and the laucher in JQA space. Shame I missed that launcher.

I had a medium shield booster that survived a number of frig and cruiser deaths. Wasn't really doing it's job very well, was it? No.
So I recycled it and used the minerals to build a cruiser. Which also died.
I hate that medium shield booster.
