we all know the feeling(i hope), your first named shield booster, the old indy you have owned for so long that you cant remember when you bought it, the frigate that always seems to escape, sometimes, barely hanging together on the duct tape you had in the glove compartment? :P
i have a few such items
my favorite, an old dominix, by the name of "the bent cannonball", the very first battleship i ever had, it was uninsured most of the time, been over a year now i think.
had many trips into 0.0, taking a big risk, hoping to fix the holes in my wallet
the narrowest escape so far(probably wont ever be topped) when i underestimated an npc spawn.. got out with a whooping 6 hull, and that's not %... it was uninsured at the time...
now it's sitting in my hangar, i'm not sure ill ever take it out for some risky things again, it's got an armor repairer in the med slot.. it cant be fitted like that anymore.. i'm too fond of it's collection value, to risk loosing it :)
a stabber crusier, by the name of the rusty nail, i'm up to #6 now, cant remember how i lost them all, but a couple of things come to mind..
#1, underestimated npcs.. need i say more?
#3, in 0.0, for the first time, warping between belts.. i run into an interesting spawn.. 10 frigates, 6 crusiers, all less then 5km from me when i exit warp.. ehe.. *boom*
#4, one of the best things that happened to me in eve, i was in 0.0, testing some tactics, needless to say, that didnt work, left me sitting in a pod, in a belt.
in warps a guy on a thorax crusier, big negative sec, and a bounty.. i look at the local channel, and to my surprise, i see him say: "hi.. need some help there?"
to make a long story short, now, nearly 2 years later, we are still good friends :)
lesson learned: i guess a negative sec status, and a bounty, dosnt make someone evil.. :)
a cute little named smartbomb, i had, while my biggest ship was a vexor, i was mining, with harvester mining drones.. can you guees where this is going?
yep.. not once but twice, i waste 8 harvesters, in one go.. GRR.. that smartbomb ended up being used for target practice.
lesson: mining drones and smatbombs, do NOT mix...
well, that's all i can think of for now.. i'll add more if i think of some..

I guy i know was siting in .5 space looking for a good belt and over TS he says "Hey look a Dread Gurtistas Arrogator, maybe I'll get somethign nice" I'm like "Oh wow, be carefull man he might pop you,"(in jest)"anyway why would they give somethign so crapy decent loot?" he says "I'm gona kill it anyway" 1 min later "Hey guess what i found?"
A damned Gurtistas Webifier, i don't know how many crappy dread frig's i've killed, and i haven't got one good piece of loot.

first day probes came out, tested them on finding a thorax, after about an hour, got it back to station, had a look what was on it, and to my surprise a true sansha cap relay. and a t2 cap recharger, so that was a 80 mill thorax.. w00t

I had a dude in nonni sell me a small mobile warp disruptor bpc for 4.5m.. cpet when i looked at it, it was a bpO
sold it for 240m the next day...
then theres the other time i bought a small sheild booster II bpo for 20m and sold it for 200...
thats about the 2 luckiest things that have happened to me.

I was flying with my corp mates patrolling (cuz we are at war) and the 2 other scouts find a target im all like "YES MY FIRST KILL!" so i started warping adn i didnt reach my destination (low cap) so i warped again...didnt make it I warped a third time in just in time to see my "wingman" picking out of the cargo loot. I then learned to train the warp drive operation skill

Erm i killed a harpy which had a faction small shield booster, and pretty much full t2.
That is the only faction thing i have had ( gistii type a shield booster, i should ahve kept it for mine it rocked

when my research agent gave me a Buzzard BPO which retailed for 1 bil when i had got it to Me 20, Nice. nothing even remotely that good has happened since cept maybe getting a 27% cargo expander off a 3k rat.

I lost my Harpy to some strange thing I still haven't figured out (got shot by sentries in Yulai for shooting at a can I didn't lock) and some ATUK ****wad took my Gistii shield booster from my can before my teammate could salvage it.

I had an incursus that took out a claw and a raptor in 2 seperate 1v1's. I tried to see how much luck it had by taking on a Rupture though and it had about 2 seconds worth of luck is all.

So I had it refined.

I had a Crow '[RKK] Birdy' which had over 50 kills to it's name and always seemed to scarper from unfavourable engagements rather effectively.
Lost it to cruise missile interception changes iirc.

This hurt me badly and still does when I look at it....they looted 1 true sansha large armor repairer, 2 55% hardeners, a domination webifier, domination scrambler and a true sansha cap injector.
