If anyone is wondering. The Star Wars game is working well and is in my opinion much better. If your tired of mining crap and the devs changing the game on you then try it out. Much more fun without the BS of this game. Who knows tomorrow they might get rid of mining in .5 and above systems because people are still making too much money.

bleh...you can have SWG. as it stands right now it's just a run-of-the-mill MMORPG. you get to run a lot and kill insignificant mobs to get your blaster skill up! OMG!

And for some reason you think this game is different. That's what I love about this game the people who "think" that this game is different than other MMORPGs. From looking at the forums people are bored. I don't blame them it's a boring game.

what SWG needs is a stable server, i heard it crashes often, and that for a game thats released and all...
don't remember any server crashes while playing eve |

SWG might be better if you like running about on a planet.
Eve is a space flight game, there is no comparison.

Must be pretty boring. The game revolves around money, just like RL. Wait, I thought I was playing this game to escape RL.

Yeah play SWG where you can do exciting things like:
* Get your ass kicked by rats and crabs the size of a dinner plate
* Search the galaxy for even bigger rats and crabs to fight
* Travel the grasslands on foot while avoiding roving rats and crabs who want to eat you
* Fight even more rats and crabs

I beta tested SWG for a few month's. It's a game designed around *and* for ***** addicts. If your idea of fun is killing frogs and rats for 15 XP for a total of 45,000 XP in order to get a certain skill level, SWG is perfect. It keeps you coming back since you have to power level in order to get anywhere. To be honest SWG is just like EQ, not in space like some people claim, but EQ dressed in Star Wars textures. I do have to give them credit for having the balls to charge $15 bucks for garbage that the SW fanatics will be glad to shell out.
But don't listen to me, this is just my opinion. I believe in always checking things out for yourself because you never know.
For those of you who think SWG is an EVE killer, it is not. EVE will continue to thrive regardless of SWG or any other MMO coming out. Just like E&B is still around (I don't know how) EVE will continue to grow and get better. UO is still around and will continue to be around even with snazzy games with better graphics, fancy story lines, and better gameplay around. These games always have the early adopters that will most likely leave, due to the drastic changes that occur during the firt development stages of the game. They will be replaced by the new people that will be more accepting of the current standards.

Don't know about the game itself, but the official SWG board has been a source of endless amusement for me since they started. There's as much whining going there as it is here, if not more... :s~

SWG is nothing more than ever***** with blasters. I knew this game wasnt for me when while waitin for another crap mission I saw a wookie running down the street from a womp rat. If you like structured games where you are lead around by the nose. EQ and SWG are for you. How much fun can it be to get your ass kicked by vermin. :)

Yeah really, SWG is crap. I played the beta for 2 weeks before I put it down and played EVE full time instead.
The only good game I've ever played at SOE is Tanarus. Infantry was ok too, but Tanarus was definatly a great game. But when they started charging monthly for it (saying the beta had ended, only Tanarus has been out for 5 or some years now, quite a beta there SOE) I stopped playing.
Not to mention SWG sucks money out of you in any way it can, charging you for the beta, what a joke. And $15 a month? Come on Sony, that's just silly. After all that they even have the nerve to limit the number of copies produced, so if you haven't bought it yet you'll have to buy the 'Collectors Edition' which costs $80, with free shipping and handling!! lol, no thanks, I'll stick with EVE.
