Do flights even go that far? I'm thinking you could buy a balloon and just wait for the earth to revolve around it self, you'd get there eventually.

I don't think flights from "down under" to the real world ( ) goes in one long flight, they probably stay and refuel during the way. I've heard it's a very long and uncomfortable flight though, so I hope you guys plan in a long vacation and not just the fan fest.

It's actually 3 flights Wranglydoodly, Oz->Singapore->UK->Iceland
Normally you get a stop for a few hours in Singapore (2hours), and there is a 4 hour difference in landing in heathrow and flying out for Iceland, so to add to the 26.5 hours of flight, there is another 6 hours of waiting around (assuming no delays).
/me considers the balloon option

Iceland is worth visiting, Reykjavik is a very nice city and the whole country is beautiful. Not as nice as Sweden of course, but still very nice. 
I'd recommend that the trip is extended really, I'd like to see more of the country than just the fan fest days, though it's a question of money really. But while you're there anyway...

Scotland is on the list of places I'd like to visit. But Iceland is a better place since all of CCP are there.

Can anyone make any recommendations on what to do and see in Iceland beyond the fanfest? I'm staying for a full week (an actual vacation... finally).
Besides getting rat-arsed at bars and soaking in the hotsprings.

Blßa L¾ni (The Blue Lagoon) was rated the 3rd most exotic place in the world by some magazine. Number one was Rio De Jainero and some town in India.
Then there is of course Gullfoss and Geysir, both about two hours drive from the big city and both beautiful locations to visit. You can go to Ìingvellir where Iceland's parliament used to be held. Also, there are excellent bars, clubs and strip joints in downtown ReykjavÝk.
A daytrip to the Westman Islands (Vestmannaeyjar) is also well worth it. Get on a crusie that sails around the islands and into all the gigantic caves, if you're lucky the Captain might pull out his trumpet and play a tune inside one of the caves, its very cool.

In order to get a cheaper flight my GF has actually booked a flight to arrive in the evening of the 23rd! I will miss everything. Oh, will just have to enjoy seeing Iceland.
