Regarding to one of last Dev Blogs.
"All Small Focused Pulse and Beam Lasers (formerly known as Medium Pulse and Medium Beam lasers): -1 PWG and -1 CPU required
All Focused Medium Pulse Lasers: -5% PWG required
All Heavy Pulse Lasers: -10% PWG required
All Cruiser Sized Beam Lasers: -10% PWG required
All Cruiser Sized Artillery Cannons: -10% PWG required"
(Nothing about hybrid)
Why no love for blasters? its looks like Amarr and Minmatar ships form cruisers to heavy assault ships got boost and become more flexible while fiting, espetialy heavy assault ships because here more power grid saved while using medium guns - lasers...
Want my sexi deimos with good tank, and full of top caliber blasters, instead of ions. EvE isn't game, its style of living. |

But you know that reduced power grid on medium lasers and Artilery got impact to t2 assault ships?
Ps. I know hybrid weapon got boost long time ago but come on, by this way, again balance is reduced to orgin... EvE isn't game, its style of living. |

Be careful what you wish for.
Amarr hulls are the most diverse in EVE. They have high PG and CPU because of high PG and CPU needed on the guns. With very few damage bonuses, most being cap usage and refire, the Amarr hull can fit any of the 6 guns and be as effective as it is with lasers. What starts out as a bonus, reduced CPU and PG for lasers could turn out to be a pigeon hole for Amarr. Making lasers forced to the hull when they then reduce PG and CPU to accommodate the new gun figures. While that is speculation and in truth, the only way to pigeon hole Amarr ships is to give them more laser dps bonus on their ships I never count anything out with CCP devs. R.I.P. Vile Rat |

that's exactly what they're doing, Maller lost the cap use bonus and is getting a dmg bonus. And refire bonuses are still a DPS bonus so the omen is already stuck with lasers. The inferno punisher already got a dmg bonus too
I think the only ones left with a cap use bonus and no dmg bonus is the prophecy and apoc and the proph is becoming a drone boat I heard. No idea about apoc.... likely not to change much if at all. The Drake is a Lie |

So what the point of boosting gallente guns few months ago, while other guns got new improvements in upcoming patch, i dont get it.
Ps. Im not against Amarr or Minmatar ships, i use multiple rases ships. EvE isn't game, its style of living. |

Omen and Zealot were Laser platforms through and through. Apoc is a laser beast because of Optimals advantage but even the Abaddon can and does get artillery fits when people bring high EM resisted fleets. Amarr is the most over powered fleet for fleets in EVE. It just doesn't get used because it doesn't always provide kill mail data to prove its worth. As a survival fleet that's hard to kill, Amarr is top dog in EVE. You need a lot of variables at play to make it work though. Know your ship, know your corp, know what team work means and be willing to accept survival as victory, not killing the other guy. R.I.P. Vile Rat |

They don't balance everything all at once. Gallente were changed a while back, others got changed this time. Some others will get tweaked somewhere down the road.

With luck, Gallente will get some love this coming year in form of drone review and armor tank review. At least that's what I'm expecting, seeing as CCP Ytterbium admitted in an earlier blog that drone mechanics are terribly outdated, and CCP Fozzie said armor tank vs shield tank is a problem and would be looked at.
Though I would still like to have rails looked at. Currently they're a bit too "suck at everything" kind of hybrid rather than "jack of all trades" hybrid. Then again, that may change too, as there was talk about changes to on-grid warping. Might make sniper fleets viable once again.
In short, I don't expect any direct Gallente boosts, beyond ship rebalance along with other races. But I do expect Gallente lineup to get better once the issues above have been looked at. Or not. I mean, this is CCP we're talking about here. Look at top 20 at EVEKill, there's maybe one Gallente subcap hull there (yes, yes, there are reasons for that, blah blah, it's still not balanced and you know it!) and half the list is Minmatar. Been like that for years and CCP seems absolutely fine with it. |

Blasters are already too powerful. Lasers and artillery are just being brought in line with blasters. Or would you rather have CCP nerf blasters to bring them back in line with other weapons? |

Nerf to heavy missiles, lot fewer drakes throwing missiles around, check! NPC AI change to switch targets and go after drones like sleeper AI does, lot fewer drones out, check!

Buff to heavy missiles velocity, missiles are not in space for as long, check! NPC AI change to switch targets and go after drones like sleeper AI does, maybe fewer drones out, hmm.

I always thought Amarr could use some help with how lasers work but Arty fits? ...
Hell, I changed over from Hybrids to Projectiles due to how much easier it was to fit tank & gank plus how reliable they were - now even easier to fit?
I wonder what this is compensating for because projectiles sure as hell didn't show any need for adjustments compared to hybrids and lasers - even after the hybrid adjustments, projectiles are still often fit on "other" hulls while these systems remain fairly exclusive to their races and the ships with bonuses to them. |

This doesn't hold water. If they wanted fewer drones out there, why would they introduce two new drone boat destroyers, and at least one drone boat frigate in Retribution? And in upcoming patches, Prophecy will become a drone boat as well. If anything, they're pushing for more drones, making Amarr arguably a superior drone race to Gallente.

Honestly 2 years ago I would agree, but with the rebalancing and the new cruisers overhaul Gaylente are just as much fun as most races. The only thing which continues to suck pvp-wise is the monodominance of speed/buffer + projectile turrets. Every race needs to have every damage type - that would go a long way to helping. Also CCP really needs to fix armour tanking.
A velocity buff for Gaylente hulls would also be awesome. They really are insanely slow compared to everything else. |

National fleets need bonus.
Passive high slot module on a Black Ops or Command ships with racial bonus. Sin/ Astarte with a bonus module that only effects Gallente ships. The bonus could be an Afterburner speed buff or MWD sig rad penalty reduction, goal being to help Gallente fleets to get to range.
I'd love to see battles revolve around the four fleets instead of the Armor/ shield platform. |

only medium artillery are getting a PG reduction, and the Hurricane is getting less powergrid so it wont be too OP. Anyone who actually flies arty lokis or muninns or what have you know they are a ***** to fit and not really worth it. This is a much needed change for arty's. |

The only thing wrong with hybrids atm is medium rails every other area is fine. Drones need a revamp but that is well know and not just limited to Gallente. When they fix Armor tanking you will see how deadly they truly are. |

Curse and Pilgrim are widely more used than Gallente drone boats. Ishtar had its day, a long while ago, but more recently it's seen very limited use. And Dragoon is a mini-Curse of sorts. And Prophecy will supposedly be a maxi-Curse.
The main issue with Gallente and having is a smaller bay size is logistics. For example, several of the rebalanced Gallente boats don't have room even for 2 full flights. Meaning, if one flight is destroyed or has to be abandoned, the ship is no longer combat-effective. Vexor, for example, is 75/125. If something happens with full first flight, you're down to 50 out of 75. Meaning you're no longer fighting as you should be. Also, no flexibility (can't carry two flights, one damage and one EWAR, or two flights with different damage types), which is blatantly unfair since drone boats lose 1 slot for this supposed flexibility and damage projection. By comparison, Arbitrator is 50/150 - both damage selection and utility is available. But not for Gallente. And heck, look at Celestis, it's 50/50, single flight with no replacements. Lose that, and you're down to 3 high slots, which is pathetic compared to Arby (50/150 plus 4 high slots plus drone bonus).
Another problem - getting new drones. Suppose you're doing a FW roam in enemy space. You're 20 jumps into enemy territory. And you lose a flight of drones on your Vexor. Where are you gonna get the new drones? You can't dock in stations owned by Amarr. So the nearest theoretical resupply is 20+ jumps away. Need I explain how this is totally gamebreaking?
I'm sorry, but CCP is still clinging to these silly ideas that were outdated years ago. If Gallente are the drone kings, they should have the bandwidth and the bay. Currently Amarr have the edge, as far as I'm concerned, just from the usability point of view. |
