The December 4th Retribution expansion are changing wardec mechanics to prevent the Dec Shield exploit. And it's about time:
CCP wrote: The aggressor now has the option to retract a war that has been made mutual by the defender. This ends the war in 24 hours.

Which is the exact opposite of what CCP said they wanted when they introduced this new wardec mechanic. They said war would be something not to be entered into lightly, as there would be consequences. So much for that...

You do realize that the reason for Dec Shield existing was entirely founded on getting the exploit fixed right? Pretty sure their game got the opposite of ruined, and they accomplished their goal. |

We used them, but somehow that roam got taken to Syndicate, where nothing special happened and we all just ended up back on the PF- gate talking about how slow double plated trimarked megas were and how we were never, ever doing it again. |

Go read the decshield objective. Tip: it was to get this mechanic fixed.

They are removing the multiplier, not the original cost. So it is still at least 50 million per war. Not a lot of money by any means but it isn't free yet :) |
