Definitely train Command Center Upgrades to at least level IV if not V. It's really useful. |

Personally I dont think so. I have a number of alts doing WH PI, and make a ton of isk with each.
I can get an alt from nothing to making 400mil of coolant in 8 days. It would take around 17 days for each skill to push CC and IC to 5.
In the time it takes to get those 2 skills to 5 I can have 4 alts at level 4 which yields far more planets and CC power/CPU.
And I can leave those alts in system to do just PI while my mains have fun doing whatever. |

For pure isk/month value it's far more efficient to train a second character tup to 5 planets and an Iteron III than it is to train lvl 5 skills on a character. IMO Planetary Consolidation will never be worth training to 5 unless you're out of character slots.
Command Centers to 5 may be worth it as it allows some actually efficient dual extractor setups. |

Sorry that came out wrong. It was late.
I am making 400mil a month making coolant from a toon that I trained for 8 days from nothing to the basic PI skills and CCU and IC 4.
I am positive training the CCU and IC to 5 on one toon would not increase my yield 4 times (i could train 4 alts, or both free slots on both of my accounts in the time it takes to just get those 2 skills from 4 to 5). |

It is worth it. Especially if you don't wanna have a 2nd or 3rd account. |

I would still question that. Unless you are using the other 2 slots of your primary account already, you could train both to do PI at CCU and IC 4 faster than getting your main from 4 to 5. And then those alts can just stay put and babysit their planets.
To each his own. I have far more things to spend a month+ training on my main than CCU and IC 5 |

I have a noob question about this. I know i can have only 1 char active in learning skill: if i switch to an alt char the first one stop to learn skill. In the planetary interaction, if i switch to another alt char, the production on planets stop or the planet cycle still continue to the natural end? |

Everything will continue to work, PI as well. Skill training is the Only thing limited to 1 Char/Account |

There is a limited progression to your logic. Sure if all you are doing is filling up the second and third slots of accounts you want to train the main characters on, then training everything to IV will probably be the most cost effective solution.
However, if you are looking to get the most out of the characters you have training PI and working PI and can "afford" the extra time, it does have tremendous benefits from both allowing an extraction planet to cover more of a planet without moving the whole setup (saves isk and time), to being able to do more with your factory planets.
So for quick hitting alts, sure skill it up to IV, but getting shills to V has its advantages. |

Exactly what I had explained was my situation.

Keeping in mind I'm talking about PI in a WH, I would find this a hard sell. IMO you would always still be better off getting your alt slots to LVL 4 PI first. Say on average it takes 30 days to train both skills from 4 to 5. That gives you what, an extra 2000MW of power, 4100TF of COU, per planet and one additional planet. In that same time I can have both of my alts trained to lvl 4 and now instead of 6 planets at CCU 5, I have 15 planets at CCU4. I can still cover far more of the planets I harvest over those three characters and have far more overall powergrid and CPU.
I'm not saying that I won't ever train those skills to 5. It is in my evemon plan. But it is WAY at the bottom of my list.

Every skill has it's advantages taking it to 5. It's just that I have many other skills I'd rather get to 5 before these ones. Now if all you want is a PI running/station trading type toon maybe it makes sense to push them to 5 early on. But I prefer to fly. So my PI is just my plex/ship money so I can do the other things I enjoy in EVE.
