Any chance in getting them to let up some of the control of the UI? If you look at other popular MMOs, they almost all have communities built up around the UI. When you engage people in making UI mods and other features, they feel engaged overall. Also, a default UI can't satisfy everyone, and having options will keep more players than it could ever cost.

I liked what I saw on the test server, with the sound changes, I was surprised at how much it made killing red cross more fun... cause a bit more immersive. Also obvious talks about how industry and POS UI need fixes. I really hope one of the secret topics is POS. |

Are you referring to a mod-able UI where players can create their own widgets and macros?
If so, I don't think that is a very good idea due to security concerns from the API that would need to be used to make the UI mod-able. |

I'm talking about being able to remove the border around the overview, or change the size of the S&I window, or have the wreck window only contain the LOOT ALL button, etc.

There are quite a lot of places in the UI that are unmitigated clickfests that it'd be nice to seen changed. PI is probably the worst offender, although the clickfest is only part of it's problems.
Industry is another. Is there a good reason why I have to manually select the slot instead of having it pick the shortest queue for me? Probably not. It'd also be really cool if instead of having to feed BPCs in one at a time (or ten at a time, as the case may be), I could say "take these BPCs and produce them all in sequence from this one slot."
Contracts. Couriers work a little differently, but in normal item exchanges, if I've chosen to copy a contract, it's because I want to duplicate it exactly. There's not necessarily any good reason why I should have to click through the same four windows anyway. At least in that case I can hit enter.
Probably all kinds of little optimizations like this that can be made throughout the UI. This post was crafted by a member of the GoonSwarm Federation Economic Cabal, the foremost authority on Eve: Online economics and gameplay.

Shortcuts for tagging targets, so I can use the numerical keypad for white skull, red cross, orange circle, yellow star GǪ oops GǪ I mean J, X, 0-9, A-D and so forth.
XML + LUA has worked nicely for WoW: certain features are available to UI designers, and that set of features is tightly controlled. This would also help CCP focus on refactoring client and UI. Day 0 advice for new players: Day 0 Advice for New Players |

Multi-Split.
Right click --> SHIFT-CLICK Split -> Dialog box asking me how many stacks and then how much in each stack
The stack splitting mechanic in EVE is horrid and desperately needs love.
Tieing into this, Copy Contract button should automatically "pull" from stacks. Right now unless you presplit everything into smaller units it will fail. Leader of the Goonswarm Economic Cabal |

As a sort of corollary to this, creating contracts from corp hangers (courier contracts specifically, it's fine with normal contracts) should at least remember the corp hanger it originated from. I know why it doesn't and can't match content, but at least remembering the hanger would be nice. The Devs have been promising an overhaul to what even they acknowledge to be the overpowered intel tool that is local and the horrid functionality of the Dscanner.
Could you maybe bring up that they've been promising to do something about it for 4-5 years now, and that MAYBE fixing those things could be a priority? |

the problem with both local and dscan is the giant fecal monsoon that will inevitably rain down on the forums, no matter how insignificant the changes may be. if you remove local, every nullbear and stealth botter will be up in arms; if you change the way dscan works in ANY way, you will get both wormholers' and piwates' jimmies rustled.
one thing that burns my soul is the stupid mission contract mechanic. docking and undocking quickly loses its charm after a few weeks of play. can we agree on nerfing security mission payouts in exchange for the ability to accept remotely?

-drag and drop overview tabs (or a secondary overview window)
-different settings on dscan than on the overview
-solar system minimap in the tactical overlay's style
Almost nobody uses the current minimap. I'ts hard to read, takes to much space on the screen, and messes up the currently opened windows. Not really practical in the current form. |

Please, get them to let us have the OLD targeting icons back if nothing else, the new ones are awful. I would love to have the WIP ones that were first shown, but the forum trolls whined and now we have these bastardizations. This seems like something that we should be given an option on, most other MMOs out there allow for some degree of customization, why can't we? |

No point in giving you false hope - it will never happen. CCP never does roll backs, and giving you the option to the same thing a different way isn't likely either. Sorry m8. CSM 7 Chairman My Blog - Where I say stuff Follow Seleene on Twitter! |

I posted the following two U.I. items in the Retribution 1.0 Feedback thread already.
1) When looting a wreck, the contents of the wreck are shown. When those contents are removed and placed into the cargo hold of a capsuleer's ship, the User Interface changes to show the contents of the capsuleer's own cargo hold. Such behavior is inappropriate since the capsuleer will likely already have a window open showing the cargo hold contents. It would be preferable for the U.I. to do what the end user requested -not something else and not something extra. The U.I. should maintain focus on the contents of the wreck.
2)I had just started getting used to the tree type navigation for accessing assets when this happened... "....The icons for collapsing and expanding the Index Tree and Filters has been changed so that it is not confused with the Back and Forward buttons". Those icons were helpful. I did not find them confusing and would appreciate that functionality returned. |

I use 2 monitors on my system. One with Eve client, the other for everything else.
What I'd like to see is a way to move panels like the chat, IGB, etc. out of the main window off onto the other monitor. Pull them off the main window very much like most graphics programs allow you to move the toolboxes around.
That would do wonders cutting down the clutter

Pay attention to sound in contexts of people who use 2 or more clients. It should be noted what effects/ambient sounds/music should be audible when client is minimized or not the active client.
In other words make your sound guys play with 2 clients for a day, switch their characters around and do various tasks. Then give them time to fix what is broken now.
People also might want to listen winamp during eve experience without the need to turn eve music volume down from eve options every time they choose to do it. Mute button to neocom anyone? Wasn't that quite obvious after removing the jukebox control panel and setting it to permanent play mode.

Complete UI overhaul.
While some of the changes in Retribution were an improvement, the UI is dated, immersion breaking, and functionally handicapped. The new UI should add functionality, immersion, and improve gameplay.
One example of adding new gameplay might be with a new drone UI. Managing drones should not be dependent on right clicking and selecting commands from menus. Add buttons that allow for direct commands, as well as an easier way of grouping drones on the fly.
Add the ability to reveal other ship piloting UI elements. Some of the same elements that are in the ship fitting window should be easily accessible while piloting in combat (i.e. sig radius, sensor strength, etc.). From a lore standpoint shouldn't a pod pilot be able to quickly bring up a diagnostic screen that would show Electronics or Engineering System status? Dashboard like items instead of the goofy ship fitting window that takes up 1/3 of your screen would add to the feeling of "piloting" a ship.
Also, please redesign the basic HUD. At the very least controlling your ship speed should be more accurate and interesting (presets?).
A HUD more along these lines would at least have more of a Sci Fi feel to it: Iron Man HUD
Bonus suggestion: If the Ui were completely redesigned, one other suggestion would be to eventually have a different UI skin for each empire. The default UI skin would be dependent on either, pilot race or ship origin (i.e. Vexor = Gallente UI skin). Changing the UI skin could be done with Aurum. More immersion + cash for CCP! |

Well, my comment on this goes especially to The new POS UI, The POS need REVAMP and need a construction UI as you guys mentioned in the last letter and meeting minutes.... please, make it happen.
And also when we look at a ship, the camera returns focus to your ship when it explodes ( but before you see the explosion) can you please ask a 3 seconds delay? Please read this! > New POS system (Block Built) Please read this! > Refining and Reprocess Revamp |
