This is what happens when people tell the newbies how to jet can mine, without telling them that CCP doesn't protect it, didn't intend it, doesn't endorse it, and ore theft is a perfectly legit tactic. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

As suggested goto another system with less traffic, but dont listen to the dips that tell you to just leave and not complain, they are the ones that have nothing better to do then steal everyones ores, We all know there are low life scum in the games and its to bad that they are on the forums as well, just move and when you get a ship that can do it before the cops get ya next ore thief comes along blow his ass out of space, they will not bother you at all then. and its very much worth it |

You must have gotten beaten up a lot as a child in school. Clearly anyone with a low tolerance for stupidity must have evil on their brains. I apologize if I sound terse in dealing with a two-week trial member who hasn't even paid for his account, whining about how he got screwed in-game. This guy expects nothing but a freebie, it's very apparent in the fact that he's just a trial-account.

You only need to scroll up to see how Eve works, Ranger. If you've got a problem, or something happens you don't like, don't understand or didn't know could happen - post about it or, better yet, start a conversation in corp chat. You'll get a few folk having a general chuckle at your misfortune (don't take it badly - mostly it's because we've all been there before you) but you'll also get at least twice as many offering help, suggestions and the benefit of their experience. The best advice I can give is to make good use of your fellow newb-corp members (you'll find many of them have actually been playing for months if not over a year) - they're the best source of help and advice you're likely to find for your first few weeks.
To be honest, if you let one setback put you off the whole game, then probably Eve isn't the place for you after all (it is a rough, tough, unforgiving galaxy out there - although at least the devs have never made any secret of that being exactly the way they wanted it). But what you get out of Eve depends on what you put in. Bad **** happens to all of us at one time or another - you get used to it, and you learn to reduce the chances of it happenning too often. But generally speaking, the bad **** never really takes the shine off the really good **** Eve has to offer
Oh - and if you plan on a mining career, get out of 1.0, train Anchoring, and buy yourself a clutch of secure containers. And even as a one week newb, you could probably find a decent fighter willing to come out and keep the 0.7 rats off your shiny newb hull for you for a cut of the ore you harvest

*dont put your can in space and fill it with ore unless you can stand to lose it*
I swear with the amount of bs on the forums you could come to the conclusion that 90% of eve players are complete idiots, does anyone use there brain in this game, or do you all drive your cars with blindfolds on.
didnt you come to the conclusion that if you could take ore out of the can so could others, common now do you have to be warned about everything. there would be a warning page as long as a football field in the begining of the game if they told you about everything, live and learn.
and what did you expect to achieve by saying this in the forums, what do you want us to do....."im leaving eve cause i dont like it and blah blah blah" ok......uh......bye! that may be harsh but seriously what did you expect to happen.

If i may add, without telling them that there are masses of systems in Concord space with a refinery and no one in them.
Please CCP, no changes.

Oh, really, all of you who're flaming this guy are just pretending to increase your e-*****es or what? No luck this saturday, I guess? Well go take that somewhere else.
He has played EVE for >>8<< days, maybe no more than a hour or 2 a day the most, he isn't supossed to KNOW everything or how this game works. And, NO, you weren't born knowing it all either, as much as your posts make you pretend otherwise, just give the guy a break and try to be helpful and encourage him to learn. Instead of saying "HEY YOU'RE AN IDIOT LOLOL (I'M OBVIOUSLY INTELLIGENT)" you may try to give him some decent advice.
Also, people who say "Can I have your stuff" should get their accounts perma-banned from forum.

You should be permabanned from this forum.
I don't know why, but it seemed like the most appropriate response to an equally asinine opinion of who should and shouldn't be allowed to post.

I think you meant to say "boring for me.
Yes, me and many other people who actually like to have a challenge and risk.
I would also think that the production corps would find it boring not having anyone buying any ships. The market would collapse.
The miners might then find it boring having very few production corps to sell their ore too.
The game would boil down to people powergaming missions to get the best ship and modules. Then what?
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

Seems to me you got the best reason there is to keep playing. You have a score to settle dont you ??
Be glad you learnt early enough for it to have a minimal efect.... Build up your skills, resources and knowledge then go out and track him down and kick his arse if it's still worth the effort to you.

The reason I am flaming this guy is because:
He is quitting after 8 days and all he has bothered to do is mining. If someone is going to quit and says it sucks and post it here on the forums I think there is very little anyone can say that is going to change his mind.
Basically, he has already made his mind up. But before leaving he had to tell the EVE community that the game sucked and was boring.
You are not going to change his mind.

Thats what makes this game good. You invest so much into a ship and items that when you lose it or ore or whatever it can be pretty huge. This game isnt for everyone.
I have never played a game that has my hands shaking after a good battle. Eve rocks

I feel your pain M8... unfortunately "OreW h o r e s" are a fact of Eve... there are ways to circumvent them.. the "secure cans"(granted much smaller than a jet can, but it's what is offered as a solution). It well and TRULY suckz that they can't be flagged for scooping your ore (an aggressive act imo) leaving them open to retribution. Ignore what the cakeholes say about you M8.. it's annoying, but I've been there and survived.

how nice it is when i look at the forums. and a guy like this comes along. ok fine the guy is new and we hear this all the time. i myself have been there and was going to leave the game becouse of the ore thiefs. but now i look back i am glad i stayed. as i got better in the game i found out how to avoid falling prey to the thieves of the game. take this guys advice and egnor all the other dic*s. they have nothing better to do than to rant and rave about your misfortune. nuala reece is obviously a talented person and i wish there were more like him in the game. as for all you others if all you are going to do is give people ( newbs ) a hard time in here then dont bother even replying. helping them in need actualy gives a bit of satisfaction. try it sometime :-)
