Ok... I have been running Level IV in a Mega (and Mega Navy Issue) for a long time. Never used anything else, like a HAC or other BS, gallente or other. I run all missions, deadspace or not. This is how it goes with the Mega setup i use. First, make sure you have the correct drones in your drone bay for the mission. This can make the difference especially if you are low in other skills... I only use Medium tech II drones, they hit hard, can kill BS's, can kill frigates, and they don't need a couple of hours like the heavies to move from one target to another. Then the ship... I use 7 X Dual 250mm Rails Tech II. They gain a terrific damage bonus and tracking bonus from the ship. Loaded with antimmater can kill anything from frigates to BS's. (aggro the frigates first, usually they will start flying towards you, with their MWD on, so they make a much larger target than they really are). In case some frigs come too close, use the drones. Use the 8th high slot for a Nos (Heavy if you can fit). Medium slots: 1 X AB (you may need to chase something from time to time, especially a far away orbiting BS), 1X Tracking Computer II (more tracking never did any harm, infact if you miss often is like as if you have less firepower) 1X WEB (not really that nessessary, but can improove hit rate on very close orbiting Cruisers and BS's) and 1 X Heavy Capacitor Booster (the setup is based upon this, remove this, and go play level II only). Low slots: Armor Repairer (I use a Centus X-type, other where ok too), 4 or 5 active hardeners depending on mission (if rats do all types of damage, i use 1 X EM 2 X explosive 1 X thermal 1 X kinetic. If rats only do 2 types of damage, i use 2 hardeners for each type, forget the stacking penalnty, it's still worth it to have best resistance you can). Now on my Navy Mega, i have 2 more empty low slots, after fitting those modules... I use one for a Magnetic field stab, and one for a damage control unit. On a mega you will have to chose what to do. When flying a Mega, i chose Damage Control... shield takes more hits to die, armor becomes slighty better, and in case everything goes terribly wrong, well... your hull will still have 60% resistance... you can't say you didn't try to stay alive. Make sure you didn't forget those 16 pieces of Cap Boosters 800 in your hangar, beacuse i bet 100:1 that no one is going to bring them to you in the middle of the battle. Load the rest of the cargo bay with antimmater charge L. If you can't fit all those modules due to CPU beeing sort (powergrid should be enough with those rails), fit something that does the same type of job, with less CPU needs. Sometimes it takes me more time to lock on a target, than to kill it... But when i first started it was exactly the opposite... So many locked targets and i didn't know where to start from... If you are new to Level IV missions don't expect them to take less than 2-3 hours... That is normal for a start.
