Just wanted to know everybody's thoughts on this subject.
Was involved in fight a short while ago in which the pilot promptly logged off - not going to name names because it's just flamebait, but wondered what people's opinions were of people that log off when they realise they don't have a hope

Most ppl think it sucks balls, it's not an exploit and you can officially do it as much as you like.
That about sums it up --------------------------------------

logging off to save a ship= bad. I wouldnt want someone logging off on me, so I wont rob someone else of a kill. The only acceptable time to log off is when there is a real life emergency. But the chances of that happening right in the middle of a fight are pretty slim.

The gH4yness of logging-off is probably the only thing that 99% of the Eve population agress on. ----------------------------

I thought there was a new thing added where if you are attacked or being attacked your ship will not auto-warp (Or what happens I never have had some one log off next to me before :))
Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy. |

Yes, right. If you're scrambled and you 'crash' you dont warp. Sadly, there's an exploit which the GMs claim is not an exploit which allows people to vanish within 20 seconds. (Yes, vanish. Not warp, vanish.)

The other one is when people log off to save their pods. -

They don't disavow its existence, they just claim it's already been patched. Had this happen in Beke with some stupid obnoxious wannabe pirate named ArmaggedonPSA. After he blew me up, 11 ****ed off people showed up in system to blow him away. They smacked him with a warp scrambler, and then he disappeared. Upon sending the appropriate logs to the GM's they denied that it could be possible.
Long story short though, we hung around for about 10 minutes and he logged back in. Got blown away, GM or no GM.

Yeah, lame tactic. Falls into the category of chat invite window spam upon gating into a system, and targeting non-war targets in empire while they're fighting other enemies in the hopes of triggering a CONCORDokken.
Something needs to be done about it. At least the other examples I named have something to counteract them. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Many thanks to the corp to whom this person belonged to -> having contacted them and shown them the fraps video we had attained during the fight, they have said they will look into it and take the appropriate action.
This can be locked now was a means of venting some frustration.
