That does seem a pretty extreme price to pay for satifying one's curiousity of course. Can I ask what your angle is in this Tairos? Are you actually a Sani Sabik cultist or just an interested fellow-traveller? Star Fraction |

[33] Jasmine, I understand your concern for public image, but your good intentioned advice shall alas fall on deaf ears this time. There are a few things I would like to point out. Firstly, the Sani Sabik are more concerned with the black heart contained within than the flesh that conceals it. Secondly, while I understand the role of public relations in some instances, we prefer to largely stand apart from such things (though yes, that is a sort of public relations statement in itself). Third, once a Ranger, always a Ranger ... Knowledge comes at a price. |

*Grins* If simple indeed, I find this process a bit... simplistic? According to your above definition, a corporation or individual could blow up every Amarrian ship in Amarrian space and, as long as the said ship is not from AM and the said blowing is not under service of the Blood Raiders, they would be safe from AM. From Admiral Garreck's and your own explanation it seems that your role would be focusing on the Blood Raiders and followers in particular (and of course any other hostile to your alliance), rather than "defending the empire" as a whole. Is that correct? --------- The Snow and the Dragon (Caldari children's Tale) |

You seem to be trying to imply a disparity here when none exists. Three issues: First, we are not the Amarr Navy or a faction there-in. It is not our "responsibility" to protect the empire...it is our humble service. Second, our mission of service to the Empire reaches out against Blood Raiders, servants of the Blood Raiders, and...I believe I mentioned anybody with a security rating of less than -5. Third, if a pod pilot takes upon their head to do what you describe above, he will quickly fall in the category of "security rating of less than -5," and will thus become a target. I hope I addressed your concerns, Mr. Kerghans? Garreck Aeternus Crusade Aku. Soku. Zan. |

I apologize if my style seemed too abrupt. I am indeed trying not only to imply but to directly point out disparity and issues that are not clear to me. I mean no disrespect or mockery, I do so only for the sake of clarity. Points one and two of your above explanation are clear as water. It's your third statement:
My fault for sloppy wording. Shooting amarrian pilots in amarrian space can be done regardless of security rating, through CONCORD-sanctioned wars. So please let me rephrase my question: does Aegis Militia consider among their services to the Empire to declare war against those corporations involved in CONCORD-sanctioned wars against Amarrian corporations? --------- The Snow and the Dragon (Caldari children's Tale) |

[45] *Graelyn nods and takes the podium* Well, I have to wonder, can I shoot a man who points a loaded question at me? *slight chuckle from the reporters* Herko, is that you? We finally meet! As for your question, the simple fact of the matter is that we are a paramilitary fleet. The Empire we serve is the largest in existance, consisting of over 40% of all human worlds. We will continue to serve the interests of the Empire where those opporitunities present themselves. We will not claim to be willing, or even possibly capable of meeting every threat that rises to meet our people. That would require a level of arrogance and self-illusion that is much better suited to the post-humanists who are far more well practiced in it. *wry smile* It is our honor and priveledge to serve Amarr. We will continue to do so in any capacity we see fit. If you wish to know more than that, well, I would refer you to our recruitment kiosk in the lobby. Your numbers must be low indeed to mix press releases with recruitment... *Looks around* Hum... I do seem to be hoarding all the questioning... then again, quite fitting for a posthuman... Anyway: I've noticed all of the speakears so far referred many times to the "Empire". Yet "God" was refered to only once... and not a single mention of the Emperor. In a press release, where every word is studied beforehand, some silences are very eloquent indeed. Even more so when compared to the rethoric of other amarrian paramilitary groups... It's well known that AM member are not all of the Amarrian race, like Admiral Garreck here. Do they share the Amarrian faith? And, would you care to expand on why defenders of the Empire do not explicitly portray themselves as defenders of the Emperor, too? --------- The Snow and the Dragon (Caldari children's Tale) |

A ironic point to bring up considering the paucity of SF forces now... Am I right in thinking that this line of questioning see Sani cultists in the right for execrcising terratorilism in the bleak lands? Also my question: Why after recent SF bile at being painted into a box, why you seem to feel the need to compartmentlises everyone else. Facinating bit of double standreds here. [51] Faith does indeed bind us together. I am sure I can speak for Admiral Garreck and the rest of my non-Amarr compatriots on that. Many of them are, in the darkest of times, examples to me and my faith. As for Emperor Doriam, my life is at his disposal. At this point however, the Aegis Militia has not been contracted by the Emperor Family for any form of bodyguard or escort support. Thus we do not claim to perform this service. However, we DO fight criminals in Amarr space, we DO combat the horrendous murder perpetrated by the cults of Sani Sabak, and in this incident, we HAVE rescued fleets of the Amarr Navy. Thus we claim to fight for the people and interests of the Empire, and this claim thus has weight. I avoid making empty boasts. Minister - Public Affairs AEGIS MILITIA ATCR Forums |

Aegis Militia is united under one banner and one cause, to defend the Empire. Those who are non-Amarrian are committed to that goal and have pledged their allegience to the Aegis Militia and the Empire. Faith is not a requirement to those who have belief and conviction. Many Amarrian and non-Amarrian believe in god, a minority do not. It's not a requirement for membership, the only thing that AM ask of it's pilots is belief in the ideals of the Empire.
How can you have the position of Emperor without an Empire? These are mutually inclusive. To defend one you must defend the other. Aegis Militia's principles are clear in their statement to "Defend the Empire" not argue semantics. Regards |

Aegis Militia's campaigns against Blood Raiders in the bleak lands and it's current war with the terrorist Urshra'Khan Alliance are important to AM's policies that is true. Although, like our CVA brothers, are firmly commited to perform anti-pirate opeations. Please bare in mind, we are a militia, a paramilitary organisation of volunteers assisting with local defence. Combat units are able to respond to attacks but can not be everywhere at once. If you have a problem of information in regards to pirate operations in the Empire, then please contact Aegis Milita in a more official capacity. Thank you |

Bastables, with all due respect, no need to search for hidden motives. I'm here as myself, and I speak for myself. Please take my questions at face value. I shall do the same with your answers. I'm not representing the Star Fraction or any other interests that my own. You are entitled to your doubts of course, but I'm here because I respect some of the Aegis Milita members and wish to know their agenda. After all, this is an Aegis Militia press conference room, right? Admiral Graelyn had the courtesy to answer to my question, adding as a bonus an ironic remark at the rather well know posthumanism arrogance... I replied with a slight joke about his mention of Aegeis Militia not being able to cover all of Amarr (which is of course obvious, not even the amarrian navy can cover such huge space). I'm asking all of this just to avoid putting your alliance into a box. It would be all too easy to label you organization as "aha... another amarrian paramilitary group". Of course, the answers you all had the courtesy to provide have been an excellent way to avoid such labels. I thank you for your time and patience. --------- The Snow and the Dragon (Caldari children's Tale) |
