Last night (or for me this morning that's why it's labeled 03-05 ;)) we (FIX) had a little skirmish with a combined force of ATUK/SUPRM/OMEGA/SNRA.
Vid is about 30mb big and lasts 4 minutes, comments and suggestions always welcome :)

Was a good fight
Our 12 battleships and i think 10 support
vs your 18-20bs and similar support
We lost 4 tier 2 bs and 3 tier 1's
and you guys lost 5 tier 2's and 1 tier 1
+ we got a tier 2 10mins before
So yeah it was fun considering being outnumbered :)
Hope for more :) ---------------

I think one of our guys still has a BS killmail to post, so make it 6.
I like vids like this one, shows the rest how much guts some of the five have, shame other alliances/corps don't follow suit, it would make the game more fun

we were almost 2:1 outnumbered on bs's battle was at extreme close range. Lord Sidon was like 1km away from me . I was scrambled even before I was called primary so I couldn't go out
was good fight and we did well for being so outnumbered

Im suprised it wasnt a video of 20plus people destroying my probe after it uncloaked and before it warped away, seems to be so much PvP interest in that sort of thing from FIX.
I used to have a nice sig but it keeps getting removed by somone with no explanation. Typical isnt it. |

Edited by: Inspiration on 04/05/2005 13:39:04 Having seen this video several times now, I realise that in PvP large scale battles, any form of tanking is pretty useless. Most BS lost their shield and/or their armor in less then five seconds after being hit. There is no way, even with the best in game modules, that any BS can recover from that (let alone sustain). If it won't die in 5 seconds it will in 7, and that is not enaugh time to escape with any certainty in a warp scrambling, capacitor sucking environment.
I wonder how you guys that participated in this onslaught view in this yourself. How did you feel when your tough BS suddenly goes all read? Did you do anything other then pressing the panic button after that?

We care not about how many of one side there was against how many of another side and what the final outcome was. At the end of the day we all play to have fun, sometimes we win, sometimes we don't, but we all enjoy it.
James posted this video because it was a good clean fight enjoyed by all. Simple as that.

With panic button I mean, the autopilot button as I personaly always set the my autopilot to a system I am aligned at, so I can jump out with just one press on a button :). No such thing as a reset or something, which problably would not work as the disconnect is not registered as such on the server immediatly :).
Check out my Shield/Armor resistance calculator.

Its a really thin line between life and death, one mistake or even too much lag and your precious battleship is in flames. And if that happens, the first thing you should do is getting your pod out .. dont really know what you mean with panic button
</edit> ah ok, got it. Tbh the autopilot aint the best way of saving your bs, its not unlikely that hostiles use that trick also .. *looks at Dr.Ping*

Hmmm, say you get hit and know more missiles and such are flying in as a complete fleet is targeting you. Is this not the perfect time to start running and come back after being fresh? Even on the verge of escape you still can fire back at enemies and it might (or not) save a ship or two.

This is what typically happens. You know when you are primary because you get lit up like a christmas tree. That's a good time to warp out and then back again. However, some tacklers (read support frigs) will have already targetted and scrambled you when you were called as secondary. Not much else to do then but to go down fighting, cackling insanely while you do

What makes this video nice for me is the music + TS voice over, the serenity of the music contrasted with the methodical carnage is pretty mesmerising.
Plus my dear apoc survived that battle yay !!!
