I have no idea, but, god, I'd give my hind teeth to find out. I even made an alt to go wandering round some 0.0 areas I've not been in once, just in case it was something you only saw out there...
did'nt find anything remotely like it, sadly

heard various things, one of them being that its the Eve Gate, in New Eden (? i think thats the system name.)
having said that, looks a bit gallentean to me...

Nope the eve gate system is not that colour... it has a sun.

I read somewhere (sorry cant remember where) that they put it in but had to remove it due to the lag and system resources it took. sounds about right.

Man I wish EVE had more stuff like that.
But it doesn't, cause it's a MMORPG and devs gotta aim for minimum common denomenator, with their crappy internet connections and crappy computers. Space will always look mostly empty 
EVE is like the only game of its class where "exploration" is not supported.

If u see that as a carebear station i realy dont want to feel the dmg from there combat stations considering this
