There was about 5800 ppl online today ( highest I saw wile logging in, not an official number )
So if thats about 1/4 of the ppl with the game we have about 24k ppl in eve.
There is no way we have more then about 300 ppl posting on the forums. I'm sure alot more read it but don't have anything to say ;)
Thats around 1% of the ppl in eve. Should the devs really be listning to the forums as much as they do?

No.
They listen to the loud ones, not the 'majority'.
If they had any sense at all they would develop an in-game voting system for people to find out what the majority of people feel about given issues rather than listening to the most opinionated 1%.
On the other hand, you could also argue that most people don't feel the need to post because they can see that their views are represented already. _____ m0o

Though it's only about 1 to 2% who post here, it is probably the devs main source of feed back from players.
Unfortunatly it's those who shout the loudest who get notice taken of them. That doesn't mean that what they are shouting about is an actual reflection of what is happening in the game.
If you believe everything said here you'd be thinking that you can't set foot out of a Station without the mOo monsters killing you dead.
You know. I've been playing from day one of retail and have never seen a player pirate, let alone fought one. About my biggest claim to fame is that I once seem to have been in the same system as Zapp, but from the time he was up on the list I think he was just passing through.
Oh. And no. I don't stay in 1.0 systems. I'm often in 0.0 systems.
The words 'mountains' and 'molehills' come to mind here. Yes certainly the game needs ballencing and tweeking. But because of the constant shouting and gnashing of teeth here I'm begining to wonder if the devs are being made to look at the wrong areas for working on.

It is a given fact that a small part of an online game 'community' actually takes the time to read the forum, let alone post.
Usually there is a hard-core poster part (often those who complain loudest) and a few supporters who love the game (called fanbois by those loud complainers).
Most people who like the game and continue liking it after some weird patches never bother to post.
(Un?)Fortunately Developers either hardly pay attention to posts on their game forum, or listen to the select few who whine the loudest (not the average player), at least that is my experience over the years.
Regrettably those loud complaining whiners (either 'griefers' or 'carebears') are lately the people who post the most and feel the need to make a personal new post about subjects that are already on this forum. Perhaps they feel the need to be special?
For me this kills the fun I usually have in game forums, as every other thread is a whine or degenerates into flames or a whine. Instead this being a board about Eve and things that happen in the game, it seems to be a whine-board.

Staying in the loop with any game is a very smart way to play. The best way to stay in the loop is to monitor forums. It's fast, you don't miss people chatting like on irc. Plus you can go back into the archives and read up on what you missed. A smart gamer monitors forums. ------------------

I'm here lately because these new highway gates opened up the chance to AFK trade. I could be reading about cars or something but I choose to try to "stay in the mood" by hanging out on the forum. I try to stay constructive and hopefully help the game. Sometimes I get ****ed at things but in the end I think we all just want to game to be good so we can have fun. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

By all means no. I've made 60 million off trading since the patch and I didn't play on the 4th of july at all. Why would I want it nerfed? This is great! ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |
