Edited by: Piritarr on 05/05/2005 19:56:01 I want to get a complete list of modules, and weapons, ships and everything in Eve, along with the relevant skills that go with them. I need the ship configurations as far as high, medium and low slots are concerned. the CPU and power is irrelevant as I only want to generate a skill list.
If you have a particular ship in mind equipped with specific modules, There is a confusing amount of skill lists to trawl through to find out what skills are actually needed. Primary and Secondary and both may require spaceship command in the list for example but both at different levels.
If you have a specific loadout on a certain ship, It can get really confusing as some items may require different levels of the same skills.
I want to write a program that allows you to select a ship, load it out and display each one of the skills with its maximum level required, irrespective of how many times that skill appears in the loadout list.
Example Loadout. 2 200mm Railgun II 2 Heavy Electron Blaster II 1 Heavy Missile Launcher
This relates to a list of skills required that shows Gunnery 4 times at 3 different levels, Medium Hybrid Turret 3 times at 3 different levels and so on.
I want to break this down to display Gunnery 3 and Med Hybrid Turret 4 etc which is the highest level required of each one.
What remains is a list of skills that can be compared against your characters current skills to see what training is required to use that combination of ship and loadout.
Can anyone help?

Item Database
It might not be the most current up to date thing, but someone else can attest to that.

OMG, there's pages of this stuff and I'd have to do it all manually.
Is there some actual single database file I can download? The EVE-I developers seem to have it sorted but won't let on.

It's probably all custom-work. I gues you just have to get a team together and start copy-pasting stuff.

i was wondering much the same thing as the original poster about the existance of a database for use in out own apps.
I did consider knocking up a parser and spider for the Item database pages on site, rather than manually typing stuff into my own db, but playing EVE is just far more interesting so no time... but could be an option for you to consider.
If u ever find a downloadable item database, evemail me

They did some major hacking of the client to get the database on Eve-I, and CCP has allowed it on the condition they don't reveal HOW they got the info.
(just to clarify)
