so ive heard a few of the new sounds in this update, and theyre neat, except for the cconstant high pitched ringing. sure it started out nice, gives me a sense of the quietness of space, but after about 30 seconds I felt like my head was going to explode.
is this a feature or am i doing something wrong?
the high pitched ringing is only heard while im in space and not during session changes. for now i will turn all world noise off, but that will make it quite difficult to hear important things like turrets. |

No Ive had it too in a a shuttle, haven't flown much else yet, but it is seriously annoying. I either have to zoom out or I may have to turn off effects which is not something I want to do. |

Yeah, it is like being given a hearing test every time I deal with a rat. There are a couple other things that have overly high-pitched tones in them and they need to get addressed as well. We highly recommend you start doing so now." --á CCP Ytterbium from:-áhttp://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=73530 |

Alright CCP, the ball's in your court now. It seems that many of us our displeased with how high pitched and annoying these new sounds are. We understand space is harsh, but when we are sitting at our desks, we would like to be able to blast noobs in comfort. |

There's a medical term for that.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus
Quote:Tinnitus ( /t+¬-êna+¬t+Ös/ or /-êt+¬n+¬t+Ös/; from the Latin word tinn-½tus meaning "ringing") is the perception of sound within the human ear in the absence of corresponding external sound. Tinnitus is not a disease, but a condition that can result from a wide range of underlying causes: neurological damage (multiple sclerosis), ear infections, oxidative stress,[1] foreign objects in the ear, nasal allergies that prevent (or induce) fluid drain, wax build-up and exposure to loud sounds.

I would believe that...
but I lock some frigates, i activate my web bleeeeep my second web goes on, i fire my guns, i destroy the target bleeeep
less than 2 seconds later i recycle the first available web bleeeeeep recycle the second, refire my guns. oops not a insta kill, takes a second shot to kill the target bleeeeep
I know the condition you refer too, i am familiar with it its more a constant ongoing whine. its not a 1 second long totally alien screechy bleeeep that only occurs the instant i start, and then complete a kill |

every time you enter/exit combat with an npc, that irritating ******* beeping *******...
yeah, i hate it too. Reading my posts is like panning for gold; most it will be useless, but occasionally you'll find a nugget of gold. |

Some of us have tinnitus naturally we don't need a game to expand on it. I have almost always played without sound on the game for reasons like that. |
