You start threads about the missile overhaul and shield operations without saying a word about the new defense modules that are coming out.
So people start yelling at each other because some feel nerfed and others are happy others are nerfed (EvE is a game about power, that doesn't always show the brightest side of human behavior) and in fact we are all discussing for nothing since all of that is going to be changed.
It's like moaning about the rain while the sun is about to shine again.
So, why don't you just modify missile speeds and introduce sig radius damage reduction (the only necessary changes at the moment) and hold ALL OTHER CHANGES until you have finalized your plans?
Or is it maybe you don't know how your big changes will look like on top of other changes and use the playerbase as betatesters before making your mind up?

i really don't know what you are trying to say here... but remember projectiles fiasco. there is many new things coming, they are hitting sisi, being removed... etc.
Just remember, it is a game... if you won't like it, well... you wont

What's to say really? They are boosting the hp shield extenders and armor plates. Afaik you had the chance a month ago to test the shiled/armor extender changes on singualrity. For now you can test the missile changes. ____________________________________________________

I read in a dev blog that new defense systems are coming which are going to change a lot in the combat fittings, can't find the exact quote though. That's just the problem, they are thinking about new features (not changes, features) and seem to implement things that will only prove viable with forthcoming patches, which generates a lot of frustration.
Just look at bombers, they were highly expected and turned to be... well let's say 'not impressive'. But they had the missile overhaul in mind when designing them, with cruise launchers having a higher RoF and adjusted damage. They left people arguing endlessly about how pointless they were when they first showed them on Sisi though.
That's why I'd like to know about those new defense modules, if they only have anything precise on their mind. How long has it been since people complained that missiles, combat duration and tanking should be looked into ?

Defense modules? Oh, right, defense, that stuff nobody uses because the only thing that acctually counts in PvP is DPS.

My assumption is that Sorja is talking about increased hp on shield extenders/armor plates. TomB posted at least twice in the sticky about the "shield operation" skill change, and the first and last posts make me think (perhaps wrongly) that this change is based on the general idea: "more hp implies better natural shield recharge, so nerf the additional passive recharge given by the skill". In my opinion it conflicts completely with the idea of a sustainable tank, as more hitpoints and less natural recharge means that you'll want to kill you opponent faster. Those interested in the reasons about this can have a look at Matthew's thread about a tanking simulator.
Sustainability will "never" be an option for shield tankers, as there is no real way to have a good cap recharge on a dedicated shield tanking ship (pds is the only low slot mod that gives more cap/s without gimping shield boosting, and you don't want to lose many med slots to cap rechargers as you need them for ew/shield hardeners/active propulsion mod).
I don't feel like commenting more, somewhat limited in my comprehension of other game mechanisms.
