Labs slots still not counting long research jobs as activity. Again my BP was ejected and the slot rent cancelled. This was a slot a rented after the patch, installed a frigates BP immediately, and set it up for 5 job cycles (a week or so of research). It finished 3, then the rents came due, it decided I wasn't using it, and canceled the rent.
The other slot I had, which had been used for shorter jobs, was fine.
And I still haven't gotten back the lab slots I lost in patch wipe of slots.

I had this same problem with a long job. It appears that the code may not consider the lab used unless you "complete" a job during the rental period. This has naturally become a problem if you are running really long jobs. That doesn't seem to be the only problem with the inactivity code though. I lost a slot which I have completed a short job to retain it.

Yup, just today, about 30 mins ago, I had an email about rent extension being rejected for the slot I'd slung a Vexor BP into to copy twice. That's 5 days a copy folks, with rental period being 3 days.

same here athan, they put a message on blog to petition so they can get everyone took care of.
of course, i put in a petition 3 days ago and haven't heard back, other than it was handed over to a master GM ???
but a petition wouldn't hurt, might make up for some of the lost time.

Aahh... Now I understand why I got that message yesterday about me not using the slot... I have to plan for a ejection in about 3 days to rerent the lab and give shorter researh spann.

I have now lost 2 labs and a factory due to CCP playing with this. I use them maybe not as much as someone playing 18hrs a day but i do use them.
Once rented if i am willing to pay the rent then i should be up to me if i use them my loss if i don't. Also if i am not on the day the rebt is due i loose them surly i should get a grace period.
This whole thing is really **** me off. So far its the only thing in Eve that has so come CCP lets sort this once and for all.

think rent periods have been or will be increased to 5 days, which is good all around. and there was mention of fixing the not showing slot in use bug.
i approve of more slots being open but maybe a 3 day grace period along with the 5 day rentals would be good. not to mention that any activity in slots of any kind should be recognized by eve, i do hope that gets fixed, for real.
i myself, have gained some slots and lost some slots - factory & research. i wouldn't care if i lost the ones i had now, if i could be sure i could get one when i needed it. that's the whole point and should still be the final solution for slots.
skill +1 limitation on renting any type of slot (+1 for any future skill increases) - corp limitations (assigned builder/researcher with limit of 4 each maybe) of some kind are needed too! this is the final solution to problem or the best one for now. ;)
