I only play the game for 2 months , and haven't experienced ANY problems before the last patch, after that patch everything was getting worse.

Edited by: sasuk on 12/05/2005 12:39:08 we have been seeing stibilty problems for a while now , imo i think before any more nerfs or addions to the game they realy should address this problem, and they probly are but stop all the addons and mods just get it stable, we had the same thing in freelancer, as i was one of the people involed in the olympus home of the god's "system design and ship hardpoints" after many many weeks of looking into it we found it was the game engin could not cope with all the missile calculations, so we nerfed the missiles and some ships and it solved the problem well 80% or the proble as the other 20% was server hardware, so please ccp sort it out

My only problem, is being in Australia, DT for me is 9pm to 10pm, I have a limited time to enjoy the game as i have a day job, wife and kids, and every 10mins after scheduled DT it is down is a large percentage of playable time I cant have.
Perhaps for a lot of you folk out there, DT happens at a civilised local hour, for me I can get maybe an hour before, and an hour after.
stuff happens, stuff breaks, stuff gets fixed, all understandable, but when something happens multiple times, you really need to ask yourself, are they fixing it, or rebooting in the hope that it comes good?

Originally by: Xtreem yup servers not started up properly, what for 2 days, wow they must be total jackasses not to be able to apply maintance on a cluster for thouands of people, Terabytes of information and a cluster network system prob costing more than your house.
lets give them a bt of credit for there work huh?
its a game, play another one while u wait if its that much of an issue
Now thats the kind of attitude I would take if I was playing a free game but Eve isnt. Everyone is paying to play this and therefore expect stability in the game. I usually keep quiet and accept the CTD's and unable to logins but lately they are happening all too often.
strongly agree. Same here, i never posted about such issues before since i was sure all will be fixed. But when it happens two times a day like yesterday?
I just would like to suggest to CCP, take one day, extend DT and check all systems for stability. WIll save a LOT of play time and a LOT of peoples ships(about those drops and lag after dt yesterday) -=-

It's only been off for half an hour, let's have a bit of perspective here. Nobody, no matter how good their support staff are, can ever guarantee that a server is going to be working 100% of the time. It's unfortunate, but it does happen. As for compensation for loss of game time, read the first sentence of this post. CCP refunded one day's credit when the servers crashed on the last patch day. If you want to do the maths and wotk out how much 36 minutes of gametime costs you, maybe you should petition them for that amount!
And to all players on trial accounts, don't worry yourselves unduly. CCP's support are normally very good, so we can expect normal services to be resumed as soon as possible.

Seconded. I too live in australia and put up with the daily downtime right in my prime playing hours (7:30 - 11:30 or so). All fine and dandy. But when you cant play for two to 3 days in a row (fine we could logon tuesday but only for 5 min at a time) you start to wonder...

These problems we've been having recently have not been here before, something is fubar and I hope they find out what is causing it because all the other mmo's put together dont come close to eve.
Im ****ed too dammit, yesterday I totally blew a fuse. All is well but my patience is running a bit thin...
Give the server a firm kick on startup (if you havn't tried already) _______________________________________________

How many of Ya'll run a server?
Some of the time it is the server some of the time it is the ISP that they have that is causing the lag issues I kow I go from a 45ms ping to 130 when I get to the icelandic ISP's routers..
Right now I am dealing with my computer rebooting randomly when I am running 2 accounts it only happens with eve and I think I narrowed it down with microsofts help to my audigy 2 sound card.
Just give them time and they will find what is going on sometimes it is not a clear cut problem sometimes it might take a day or two.. Like the power company told me the other day while I was at work dealing with some of my facilities going down because of power phase fluxuations. My company pays the electric bill adn we were told well at least you have power most of the time we dont have to provide it all of the time even though you pay for it ..

I was having disconnects yesterday and realised I had a virus ( the new one called Sober.p) that is undetected on most AVP's except Kaspersky. I am running EVE on a virus free HD and no problems at all now.
