OK guys, bit of advice needed here. I'm thinking of fitting up a Typhoon for mining in low security space and would appreciate a bit of advice on the following setup. Now, with Electronics at level 5, I can just about shoehorn the following onto the ship:
Highslots: 4 x Miner II 4 x "Malkuth" Cruise Launcher
Midslots 1 x Large Shield Booster II 1 x Webbifier 2 x Capacitor Recharger
Lowslots 2 x Warp Core Stabiliser 2 x CPU II 1 x Large Armour Repairer 1 x 1600mm Reinforced Nanofiber Plating 1 x Armour Kinetic Hardener
Any ideas for improvement to this setup?

Edited by: theblaze on 13/05/2005 17:06:17 I wouldn't armour and shield tank, use either one. I would armour tank so put on another cap recharger.

not much point in 4 miner2s, use a mega or apoc instead. If you can only fly minmatar use a Scythe, its the best minmatar mining ship.

I can fly a Scythe and an Osprey, as well as Mining Barges. My concern is how fragile a Scythe would be against any NPC spawns, never mind any wandering PvPers.

I haven't tried it, but why not use Siege Launchers instead of Cruise ones? If it's a CPU issue, then never mind -- otherwise, get rid of those cruise launchers!

If you drop that large shield booster and fit a cap recharger instead, you'll free up alot of cpu. You should be able to fit 4x siege launchers then.
I'd also drop the 1600mm plate for another hardener. There should still be enough cpu left over once you drop that large shield booster and switch to siege launchers.

Can you ditch the Malkuths for regular Siege and avoid a CPU problem?
If so, do it, as the 4 siege should be sufficient to deal with most NPC rats - who are probably going to warp into within 40km of you anyway. And if you can free up some CPU II space maybe you can get another hardener or two.
As for PC pirates, you're better off just insta jumping somewhere and hiding a bit. And for that you seem prepared.
Doesn't the phoon have 4 medium slots?
Also, any chance you can use the deep core miners instead of miner 2's? I can't remember if they use less or more cpu. __________________________________
