So I like to play EVE on my laptop sometimes and when I'm mobile I like to play medium settings, windowed, and keep my overview layout/colors/sizing so that it's easier to use a trackpad on. However, when I dock my laptop and connect it to my 23" monitor, I much prefer a fullscreen experience and with the added real estate, I play at a higher resolution and overview sizing.
Is there a way to launch it depending on what way I want to play it at? I know you can save overviews but wondering if I could bundle ALL my settings in two different 'launchers'.... |

If you have 2 partitions on your laptop its easy. Lets say EvE on C: is full details and max everything. Shortcut on desktop EVE Max Lets say EvE on D: is low details, min everything . Shortcut on desktop EVE Low
Just copy eve to other partition and run it once so it creates needed directories in AppData. Then you would get this: c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\D_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
Just copy all data from: c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\C_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility into a new path shown above, so your chars and overview are the for starters, tweak your settings and point the shortcut to eve.exe on D.
Or, a bit of old switcharoo. c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings folder has all your data, chars and options, screen settings, the works. Backup that folder (with max settings), lets call it SettingsMAX, and make another one (get ingame and set low settings) and name it SettingsLOW.
Now you have SettingsMAX and SettingsLOW for example. Wanna play on MAX? Just remove MAX from folder name so its only "settings" and play. Wanna play on LOW? Rename Settings to SettingsMAX, and then SettingsLOW to settings, so game loads with data from low settings folder. You can make a batch script to auto-rename folders and launch eve on preference.
This is a hassle to do every time so I use partitions method. Won a G510 keyboard in AT-X on-á 21.07.2012. Still not delivered, CCP keeps quiet. Customer support needs a raise. |

Set up different clients for each way you want it played, I have this for each of my accounts so they have their own saved settings.
hope it helps. "Don't count on others for help. In the end each of us is in this alone. The survivors are those who know how to look out for themselves." |

+1 for the junction method, it only takes up one client space, and you only need to update once. Used to use it when I was running multiple screens (they have different cashe and settings). |
