Greetings. Everything worked great until the Retribution expansion came out. Now, when i deploy my COMBAT drones, the "Engage Target" button no longer works. The button works for salvage drones fine, so it seems to just be the combat ones. I tried with Warrior II and Valkyrie II . Now, to have my drones attack, i have to right click on the drones and select attack target from the drop down menu.
Mac OSX v. 10.6.8 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Ram
I have already cleared out the game application cache and it did not fix the problem. i have not heard of anyone else having this problem, so I am a bit puzzled.
Help would be appreciated. |

Having the same trouble on 2x accounts with Scout drones from Mackinaws against rats. Its great watching your shield get chipped away at by a swarm of tiny rats while your drones just orbit your ship in 'idle' status. I'm using Warrior IIs and Hobgoblin IIs |

What I was doing last nite, deploy the drones, then when rats approach, target the rat, then right click (command + click) the "drones in space" separator bar and select "engage target" from the drop down. The "engage target" button near the top (that looks like a gear) does not work. |

Thank you
I appreciate you letting us know about this issue. Might I also suggest a bug report as well, because though the forums are a great place for information, the bug report system ( https://bugs.eveonline.com/newbugreport.asp ) is the best way to report issues of this nature.
Keep them coming! ISD Flidais Asagiri Lieutenant Community Communication Liaisons (CCLs) Interstellar Services Department |

With respect, I did file a bug report... and I would ask that my mates who are also having problems do the same.
I got a reply from the report that essentially said that they didn't find any issues. Well, good for them. Doesn't really help me or the others who are experiencing this problem. Its almost as if they are saying "Look Pal, nobody else is having this problem, so it's at your end"
He asked me to explain or reproduce the problem... after I had already told them that there is NOTHING to reproduce... it is a persistent problem that requires no action on my part: i click the button, it doesn't work. Nothing to reproduce there. I gave them my system and OS specs, too. Its like they are not listening to what Im trying to tell them.
So, i basically felt like because they cannot find a way to reproduce the issue, it must not exist. I dunno. TBH, I gave up dealing with it, hoping that they will eventually hear from enough ppl about it to actually look into it with a little more urgency... hoping that one day, I'll log on and it will have been fixed. But... it is a serious issue if one depends on drones (and hey, who doesn't?)
ISD Flldais.... you must know somebody.. cant you point them to this thread an just say: "hey.. some Mac ppl are having this issue"? I reported the bug and was made to feel like i wasn't believed, or that I was the only one. So... idk what Im supposed to do about it now.
Until they fix it, the work-around that i found is to right click the drone box, select 'engage target' on the drop down menu. May be cumbersome in a pvp duel, but at least ur drones will be usable during missions and ratting. |
