(slight rant)
OMFG
I start gallente - gallente suck so...
i train amarr battleships... amarr get nerfed... guristas become a pain in the ass...
i train caldari battleships... missiles now get nerfed
F U C K I N G Hell! What a waste of my bloody training time. I get more ****ed of with this game every day and im trying hard not to leave right now. CCP doesn't realise that nerfs ruin games. they ruined SWG, they are ruining EVE. see a pattern? its so damn obvious. Why dont they just slightly ajust things rather than change them completely its just dumb! Minmitar get a big boost so tempest could already pwn most amarr ships before they nerfed pulses AND crystals (why the **** crystals if pulses are the problem?) /sigh. And 20 torps to take out a pod wtf?
Yeah im in a bad mood now srry, but this is how much EVE is ****ing me off. I play to have fun not so i have to struggle to adapt to every change they make. I tried specialising but it was pointless in the end. Its been a while since i've had fun on this game.

Edited by: Guardian Alpha on 14/05/2005 21:52:04 I'm going to be straight and simple with you.
There is not a singular race/ship/skill that is going to make you a true pilot. Do not assume that a certain race/ship/skill is going to be an unbeatable force.
25% of this game is about character skills. 25% of this game is about ship type and setups. The other 50% is about YOUR tactics as a pilot*, YOUR adaptability as a pilot, and YOUR actions as a pilot. Without your own tactics you will forever be at the mercy of what people see as "nerfs".
* I don't mean "orbit and fire" or "tank and fire". I mean real tactics that involve mathamatics, planning, manual navigation, flight patterns, micromanagement of capacitor usage, micromanagement of drones and their own veolcity/orbital patterns. ------------

Its CCP trying to balance the game, which will never happen to everyone satisfaction Ppl moan about something, it gets nerfed, then a new set moan about something else, its a visous circle.
Be grateful Megas are good again

and with 25% missing i die every time. The current system isnt flexible enough to make up for this. Make a decision and you support it for the rest of your time on EVE eg.
my stupidly high charisma
my totally unspecialised character who is now unable to kill guristas

Skills are a peice of cake, and almost all skills will help out each and every ship in some aspect. The only thing holding back skills are training time.
Don't take on what your ship, skills, character can't handle. Some people wait years for pvp slaughter.
Even with specialization, you can choose to multispecialize. Seriously now, have patience. Some people have been playing the same character for 2 years or more. At least even give the forums time to load your characters picture in the Avatar before deciding that nerfs are detrimental to tactics. ------------

Waiting a year to have fun isn't something i can do im afraid. I wish i had that kind of patience but i don't. I should be able to have fun as soon as i start playing a game.

Leave.
No, not kidding. If this makes you this angry then it's time for a break. You're in for a world of hurt if a overdue correction of (large) lasers and plans for a missile overhaul make you want to quit already.
As for killig those guristas, there is no race more suited for that then gallente. The megathron just pwns guristas, how you missed that is a mystery to me tbh.

If your not enjoying yourself mate theres no point in playing/paying. Games are supposed to be fun and relaxing and take your mind off things, its a game not real life, go have a beer or something.... chill.

they're getting close to being even now, I'm only specialized in minmatar ships and they were rather bad for a long time, still aren't great compared to raven currently on tq in pve, or apoc's tanking or blasterthron damage or... you get the idea, but I like em regardless, I don't care if i'm not King of the Hill or not, why bother as lon as it gets the job done i'm fine. and Fyi minmatar ships still don't own amarr bs, its all about setup mostly, eg. Vamphoon is specifically setup to drain cap from a ship asap but damage output is crap, tempest can do decent damage with autocannons but tanking is subpar to an apoc, need I go on ? Armageddon in gank mode would still own that tempest going up close (unless he uses some special ew tactics ). Regarding pulses they were not nerfed, I say again NOT nerfed. They were reduced in range to where they are supposed to be, pulses still have the best range of all the short range (yes, pulse laser is a short range turret ). And missiles well they'll get it right on Sisi before it comes to TQ. ------------------------------------------ The ammatar are not the enemy, they are the smoke and mirrors of the amarr. |

Well, your point is wrong. that's all really.
You shouldnt have foucsed on being in the 'bestest' ship or race from teh start anyway. It's more about preference then about any race/ship.clas/whatever being better then others.
And anyway, the caldari wont suck after this change, they'll be different from now. _______________________________________________

If you spent 1/2 the time getting good at your first race ship as you have jumping around you'd be far better off, and having more fun then you are now. Keep that in mind the next time your ship is nerfed into total uselessness and you want to change.
There are no 100% useless ships, just useless pilots.

Edited by: theRaptor on 14/05/2005 23:00:29 If you have played this game long enough to be in a BS, then you should know that the all the races cycle through being good, and sucking.
For this very reason I learnt to fly all T1 ships for 3 races (Caldari, Gallente, Amarr), and could learn minmatar in two weeks. Currently I can fly Caldari Covert ops and Assault frigates, and am training Gallente frig V. That allows me to leverage the skill points I have in hybrid spec over two races elite ships.
The majority of your skill points before T2, are in support skills that you need for all races.
I would also add that its good to be able to fly a few races ships, as you tend to get bored flying the same type of ship for months on end. I went Gallente, Amarr, Caldari, and am about to get back into flying Gallente. --------------------------------------------------

If you specialize in a certain race (read: battleship 5, large weapon specs, etc...), the balance is close enough (and is likley to remain close enough) that you will still at the very least be competitive.
Or, you could train for everything and fly the race with the current advantage with mediocre skills (which will probably result into you running into someone highly specialized who knows how to fly their ship, and getting pwned). ------------------------------------------------------------------

Megathron on Guristas = win. Case closed. Even the Dom can hunt them nicely.
And don't abandon a whole race's ships just because some idiot tells you they suck. Gallente are an awesome race to fly. They have to be to have their pilots even come close to competing with us mighty Caldari. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Hehe gallente and minmatar ships just seem too need more skill points too reach the same lvl of effectiveness.
