The backstory says, and I remember this chapter from its earliest days, that CONCORD was long gravely concerned by rogue drone infestations in deadspace pockets, news of the existence of said pockets leaked out, beacons got *****ed by some Gallentean teenager who needs to get ----, yadda yadda bring the overseers' effects to CONCORD/DED and they will pay you a bounty for the evidence of your destruction of whatever.

Except sec status. You would think that sitting for hours in a complex, or doing L4 Rogue Drone missions, would give you a sec status reward same as killing any other rat. I mean, CONCORD rewards you with standing and ISK for NPC rat kills, why not with standing for rogue drone kills?
Just puzzled.
EDIT: And why is "haxored" written in leet a filtered word?

I prefer getting the mineral drops rather then bounties. Makes it easy to do some basic production.

You never get standings for complex kills. I've been running complexes for ages, I never get a sec increase. I prefer it this way. If you really want sec status, you have to NPC the old fashioned way, in an asteroid belt.

I realise you don't get sec status increases for rogue drones, but I'm pointing out it is a bit odd. Not even in mission spawns. CONCORD rewards you with ISK for killing the overseers, but not with standing as with all the other rats.

I think he has a point. Sec status gain for eliminating the rogue drone nuisances makes perfect sense to me

Edited by: Shaemell Buttleson on 15/05/2005 14:50:32 You only get sec status raise for named faction npc's that have bounties on them afaik. The merc commander/wingmen dont give a sec rating raise but all others like angels/gurristas etc do. As for drones when you consider you can get upto or even more than 3k of zydrine in 1 mission that lasts perhaps and hour plus other minerals as well, you are talking over 12 mil isk plus the mission pay and bonus if you are quick enough.. These missions pay extremly well so it's not as if you lose out doing them..
I do find it odd though that the structures are "wanted" but have zero bounty dont allways drop loot and can take 600 or more torpedos to destroy. That is the only inconsistancy I can see.

Then I'm owed a load of sec status because mine hasn't gone up in months.

Edited by: Cmdr Sy on 16/05/2005 18:13:57 A couple of minor clarifications...
1) Rogue drones do drop Overseers' Effects in complexes, but obviously never in missions.
2) You cease to receive sec status gains from killing certain NPC rats after you have killed some secret quantity of that type jealously guarded by the Devs. This is so people don't get a high sec status from killing huge numbers of defenceless frig rats. But presumably this also applies to BS spawns, so maybe years down the line, some pvpers will realise in horror that they can't fix their sec status by chaining spawns.
Anyway, I am not complaining about the ISK rewards for killing rogue drones, be it mineral compounds or overseers' effects. I am simply puzzled why [Role-Play Alert! ] CONCORD would appeal to the pod pilot community to control the rogue drone menace by raiding their complexes, and not reward such efforts with sec status gains. I would love to hear a rationale for this.

I think it's more a case of once you reach a certain sec status certain ships cease to give sec rating increases, so no matter how many ships you kill you will always be able to raise your sec status but you will have to shoot ships at your level. .+ (_) Fetch the holy hand grenade |

I guess you never refined what is dropped by a supreme drone parasite. If you would've done that you'd seen the insane amount of zydrine and mega you got from those missions.

I guess you didn't read the thread.
I KNOW you get stuff in drone loot cans. I've done a 5/10 rogue drone complex FFS. I'm talking about sec status.
