Are tech II beams (tachyons) really all they're *****ed up to be? I kinda feel like its a lot of training...i just need someone to tell me they're uber

yes they are great
i used to be a close guy with my apoc and megapulse t1'a but once i tried the sniping from 150-180ks i was converted.
For npcing i run a pure snipe setup
Hi 6 t2 tachs 2 meduim pulses (S) for frigs that surpirse u,
Mid 2 t2 tracking comps 2 t2 sensor boosters
Low 2 t2 tracking enhancers 4 t2 heat sinks 1 t2 pdu
this setup vaporises any spawn i have seen so far and pretty quick, damge mod is 9.98 and rof is in the 6.7 region.
I use microwave to engage at 150km and radio for any further out to about 185 max reliable hits.
While this setup has no defense i have been suprised by the ocasional spawn and if you remain calm you can easy take out a double 750k spawn just target the warp scrambling frig and kill them first so u can get out if needed.
Close range the hits are around 400-800 and i have had 3 wrecking in one volley doing about 3 k for the volley. Still its not something u want to do if possible, oh and dont use a snipe setup to collect loot use and indy set for the job (2nd account 4tw)
150k range damage is in the 100 to 400 ballpark.

Almost there (relatively) Already got all pre-reqs except medium specialization 4. (those are on the way to 3 as we speak)
I'm just looking forward to TII mega-pulse.

I got on an account with t2 megapulses and almost crapped my pants with glee.
The third level of the serp extravaganza my m8 and I warped in.
I killed a 2mill isk BS before he killed 3 webbing friggies in a raven.
With skills they do about 30% more damage than the t1 variant. Considering they fire so quickly, its well worth it.

I got large special 5 a while back and in the fleet battles its great optimal of 137 with radios and 2 TC and damage of 300 to 800 with multis close.
My only bad issue is, if u die its alot of guns to loose hehe.
Can strip a BS shileds in 1 volly, but im now going to 1400 IIs as these seem to be good on all shield armour and struct :)

if u get tachs use them close range, sniping aint fun, it just shows u got no balls, and damage aint gr8 either, im guessin thats why SMASH and FA snipe alot --------------------------------------------

Yes they are worth training for, as we have the Bpo and can get a nice deal, the price is not so much of a concern. start training
