I cannot get a response from eve-online.com or for example
http://www.eve-online.com/background/
what was the alternative domain name to use? Something .is ??

It seems indeed like www.eve-online.com is not responding. The same is of cause the case with www.eve.is, since they point to the same IP.

Yes, we are experiencing some problems with the home site. The network admin is looking into the issue and hopes to have it fixed very soon.

Guys, seriously, what's going on lately?
I'm worried about you. You haven't been the same recently. If we're going to make this work, we need to communicate, you know its the key to a healthy relationship. You've been having problems lately, you know, keeping it up... the servers, the site, all of it.

Actually, it's from the old TV series 'Allo 'Allo. One of the things that always happened was that RenÚ, who runs a cafÚ, always has an affair with his waitresses. In almost every single episode his wife, Edith, comes in and sees them together. RenÚ always has an explanation, and it always starts with "You silly woman!".
